Hi Dave:
I have been reading different posts about QRZ.
Are they only accepting paid subscriptions?
I have 4 or 5 emails to them with no response.
I realize you have no connection with QRZ but any info is appreciated.

In thinking about about, do we know whether more people add comments to
spots or not? If the majority make comments, perhaps the ctrl-click action
should be the default and the ctrl-click action would send the spot without
comment. That would also make it more intuitively consistent with SC.

SpotCollector provides a dedicated Notes box for outgoing spots; the CTRL
key is not used when generating an outgoing spot.

Changing the meaning of the CTRL key when generating a spot from
DXKeeper's Capture window from "prompt for notes" to "don't prompt for
notes" would make it no more or less consistent with SpotCollector, but
would force users to change behavior that's become automatic through many
years of repetition.

I have seen that a couple of times also, stopping and restarting
Pathfinder has always worked for me.

That means that DXKeeper has lost its ability to send messages to
Pathfinder, which in turn means that Windows is stressed. If you're running
any applications that aren't critical, consider terminating them.

I keep getting the following error.

DXKeeper

Callbook error: Required version of Pathfinder not running.

I have the latest version, version 5.6.4.

Any ideas?

If you have the Callbook tab of DXKeeper's Configuration window set to
"QRZ.com via Pathfinder", then you must have Pathfinder running.

Never mind Al Gore. AIUI, warmer oceans mean that the air picks up more moisture that then falls either as rain or as snow when it reaches cooler regions.

SQL search

Art K6XT <k6xt@...>

These 2 searches should produce the same "Add Needed" result for 80 and
160. Or at least I want them to. They do not.

#1: (band = '160m' or band = '80m') and QSO_Begin > #1 jan 2010# and
DXCCID <> '291' and DXCCID <> '339' and DXCCID <> '1' and dxccid <> '50'
and dxccid <> '110' and dxccid <> '148'

#2: QSO_Begin > #1 jan 2010# and DXCCID <> '291' and DXCCID <> '339' and
DXCCID <> '1' and dxccid <> '50' and dxccid <> '110' and dxccid <> '148'

#1 produces 2 "Add Needed" for 80, zero for 160, from a field of 606 QSOs.

#2 produces 25 "Add Needed" 80, 7 for 160, from a field of 3360 QSOs
including the two "Add Needed" QSOs produced by search #1.

Except for (band = '160m' or band = '80m') the two searches are a copy
'n paste. Sampling 80 and 160 entries in the search result they appear
to contain the same QSOs. My simple way of looking at this is a country
"Add Needed" in one search is also a country "Add Needed" in the other.
QSL Via is to an ADIF file. What might I have done wrong?

No spots showing up in Main window

N4DJ

I have not had any new spots appear in the main window since yesterday morning, although spots are appearing continuously in the individual source window. I have checked to be sure I am not filtering them all out. I have set the mode to SSB and CW, continents to all, origin to all and still nothing new in the main window. I tried N1MM logger and spots come in fine.
I also upgraded to the latest Spot collector and still have the problem.
I imagine this has happened before to some one else. I have used spot collector for several years and no problems.
Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Don

When you generated the outgoing spot from the Capture window, where did
you specify your comment?

In the box labeled "comment" right above the contest mode check box.

+++That box is exclusively used to record a comment with the QSO. To specify
notes to be included with an outgoing spot generated from the Capture
window, depress the CTRL key while clicking the Capture window's Spot
button, and you'll be prompted to specify your notes.

I had nested my crankup tower well prior to this storm hitting.
The antenna was approximately at the 35 feet level
Now it's at the 25 feet asl

that's 'Above Snow Level'.

Dave, can you convert that 'Improve SFI button' to a NMS button?

VP8ORK as VP8-F

I did not see the earlier response by Joe on this subject, sorry. But
that still begs the question of how DXVIEW or SpotCollector interprets

I guess for now an override is the appropriate fix.

Pete
very few realize that the Post Master in Stanley is the issuing officer for ham calls. the Falklands for many years did not have telephone service between a lot of the camps and ranches on either the East or West Islands or the 20 some smaller islands surrounding them. you do not have to set a test in the Falklands but cause for years ham radio was used as the interisland telephone . many schools would hold class over the radio so that the kids out in the camps could have an education. for years i supplied crystals for a lot of the hams so they could put their radios on the interisland freq. at 2mhz. Since they figure that South Sandwich South George South Shetlands South Orkney ect. are all under the Protectant and part of VP8 one call works for all. To help keep the islands apart in your logging programs as each is a dxcc credit the programers came up with the VP8-F VP8-SG VP8-O VP8-SI VP8-SH . SO when you worked a VP8 and found out where he was you just checked which of the databases it fell into. other then base operations people on the islands that have military bases all the islands have no people living on them.
The bottom line is. if you work any VP8 it will be listed as Falklands unless you setup and exception .

WinWarbler 6.9.7 changes mode to Phone when launched

w2nra@...

Hi Dave,

When I launch WinWarbler 6.9.7 with FT2000D in CW and Commander showing CW-R, WinWarbler changes mode to Phone and Commander and Rig change to Phone.

If I change WinWarbler's mode to CW and close and relaunch it, it still changes mode to Phone.

WinWarbler 6.9.5 does not do this.

Re: Clublog

Laurent Ferracci

If you choose to upload each & every QSO when it's logged, clublog qill get
all the infos available at logging time.

Later, when that already-uploaded QSO gets confirmed (either LotW or QSL
card), its "QSL status" (i should have said, rather that "QSL info")
changes.

Will that "QSL status" change be uploaded to Clublog ? In my understanding,
it won't

Hi chaps

Thanks for your copy of this thread Iain.

Dave, I'd be very happy to help if there's anything you'd like to try.
Club
Log is pretty adaptable and any kind of logging suite integration is
certainly something I'm keen to do, including helping sort out the idea
of
incremental uploads if you wish.

If you provide a fast web service that accepts an uploaded QSO and
confirms its acceptance, then DXKeeper could provide an "automatically
upload each QSO to ClubLog" option that when enabled sends each QSO to
ClubLog as its logged; the user would only be notified if a connection
to
ClubLog could not be established, or if ClubLog rejected the uploaded
QSO.
After a user uploaded all existing QSOs, this capability would make
uploading automatic for all subsequently-logged QSOs.

As a DXK & ClubLog user I upload my complete ADIF log to ClubLog about once a month & delete the existing one to enable it to pick up any QSLs received & recorded in the intervening period.
ClubLog has an option to enable me to do this very easily.
