When I said "Once you define a 'myQTH ID', you can't modify it", I mean that you cannot modify the identifier; you can modify any of it contents.

Thanks Dave, thought it might be something like that.

A follow up question if you'd be so kind: The help web page Managing
Multiple QTHs <cid:part1.05000008.09010407@...> states that
"To modify a QTH definition, select its entry in grid display, make
whatever changes are required, and click the *Save* button."

I do not seem to be able to get that function to work as described. Does
it apply to the ID (that's what I want to change)?

I follow the instructions, but see no change in the QTH ID in the Log
tab. But if I stop and start DXKeeper, the QTH ID field is then blank
for all of the log entries for that modified QTH.

What am I missing?

Subject: [dxlab] MyQTH Rig field

Hi Dave,

I have temporarily changed rigs while my primary transceiver is being
repaired. I see in the MyQTH table a field named "Rig."

How does one make use of the "Rig" field to indicate a specific piece of
equipment from among several that may be available? I'm still at the
same QTH, just a different transceiver.

Say you have three transceivers: an TS-2000, IC-7000, and an FT-950.
You
would create three "my QTH" definitions:

Charleston-2000

Charleston-7000

Charleston-950

The items in these three "my QTH" definitions would be identical except
for the Rig item, which would contain TS-2000, IC-7000, and FT-950
respectively.

The "Default QTH ID" selector on the Config window's Log tab would let
you choose the "my QTH" that specifies the transceiver currently in use.

The advantage of doing this, compared to a user-defined item, is that
the
information is stored in standard ADIF-defined field (MY_RIG), and thus is
more likely to be accepted by other logging applications -- which I
understand may not be a consideration. As they say, "I'm just sayin".

I am running the 32 bit version of windows 7.
Thanks for the tip on the list of confirmed win 7 hardware.

I have the rigblaster with the cat port cable, but the setup that worked
before on winxp was rigblaster on one port (winwarbler) without cat cable
and other port ct-62usb for rig control (commander).

When i used rig control and ptt control both on rigplaster plug and play,
commander and winwarbler complained about sharing same port. It seemed to me
like two programs can not share the same port.

On the PTT tab of WinWarbler's Config window, set the "PTT Mode" panel to
"Xcvr CTRL SW", and set the "PTT Port" panel to "None". Configured in this
way, WinWarbler will accomplish RX-TX switching via Commander; thus only a
single serial port (opened by Commander) is required. See

<http://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/PTTMechanism>

Since I can not get the cat-62 with prolific drivers to work on Windows 7 I
may go to a confirmed win 7 hardware usb to DB9 connector and purchase the
db-9 yaesu cat cable.

That should work.

I had Dx lab and all its programs on my old windows xp laptop and it ran
slow but ok. (old laptop). I used a rigblaster USB plug and play for audio
in / out via data port on one com port. And a USB ct-62 cat cable for rig
control on the another com port.

Wanting a little more speed and better multitasking, I tried to install
Dxlab on my new windows 7 laptop. The rigblaster installed ok on one com
port.

The prolific / ct-62 cat cable for rig control is giving me trouble. After
trying several versions of prolific driver software on windows 7, I seem to
have one that loads ok but still no rig control. Commander has no tx/rx
frquency readout or control.

What worked ok on Xp will not work ok on windows 7.

I was curious what others use for a cat control cable for their yaesu
857/897 rigs under windows 7 ?

Prolific's drivers have been problematic on Windows 7. Are you running
the 32-bit or 64-bit flavor of Windows 7?

There's a list of interfaces known to work with 32-bit and 64-bit
versions of Windows 7 in

Subject: [dxlab] Failure to install launcher on Windows 2000

System is SP4 with all critical updates. The symptoms are similar to
those reported in <http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dxlab/message/61704
<http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dxlab/message/61704> > -- a "cannot
continue" dialog while copying urlmon.dll. Running in safe mode does not
help.

I can install the apps individually and live without the launcher, so
this is not a big problem for me. But I'd appreciate suggestions.

You can work around this by downloading and installing
<http://www.dxlabsuite.com/Launcher/DXLabLauncher168ArchiveNUW.exe>

Buddy, did you re-install a DXLab application when the countdown began, or
did you install another application at that time?

John,

I had the same expericence! But that was 2 weeks ago and now I'm down to
only 14 days left of the evaluation period, hi.. I am anxious to see what
happens when it expires!
I did read somewhere that the APEX XarayDB Object has to do with your video.
I have noticed some video not being displayed, such as in my weather
program. I'd be interested in a cure for this also.

Old computer died. Installing fresh DXLab on the new one. The process
hung up on DXKeeper download, but I aborted and reinstalled and all
works fine.

But, now I keep getting a nag messagebox saying APEX XarrayDB Object has
evaluation period of 30 days left.

I've been doing other things, so it may not be a DXLab issue, but it
started after the reinstall.

Any suggestions?

Dave -

In the registry the "VB and VBA Program Settings\Spotcollector\Spot"
item XarrayDBRegistered has a value of -1. There were no other listings
in DXLab categories.

Re: Incorrect Mode

Dave AA6YQ

If an incoming spot's Notes specify a mode, then when SpotCollector creates
a spot database entry for this spot, it sets the entry's mode to the mode
specified in the Notes. Otherwise, it consults the sub-band definition file
you've specified on the Config window's general tab to determine the mode as
a function of the spot's frequency. Note that you can maintain multiple
sub-band definition files and use the one most appropriate given current
conditions (e.g. taking into account a RTTY contest).

I received a spot a few minutes ago for ZS1A on 7.140 and the mode was shown
to be CW. I went to look and found that he was in fact LSB phone. I use
the ve7cc software to do my spotting, but I'm not sure what/where the mode
of CW came from. Anybody want to venture a guess and how it can be fixed to
provide the proper mode?

Merry Christmas to all,

Bob

I always wondered... when you sync with LoTW, shouldn't the system automatically move QSOs from C to V (verified) if the credit has been applied by the ARRL?

The ARRL does not provide a "DXCC credit granted" interface comparable to the "LotW confirmation" interface exploited by DXKeeper's "Sync LotW QSLs" function. They have indicated that such interface would be provided, to the point of proposing extensions to ADIF needed to support it, but there have been no signs of forward motion in this dimension, or in any other visible dimension.
One can direct the LotW web site to display a table containing one's DXCC credits; I have expirically determined that DXKeeper could be extended to directly download this table and extract the credit information. However, this sort of implementation would be broken by any change in the table's formatting, yielding the same sort of fragility we've experienced with Pathfinder's extraction of Callbook information from QRZ.com. Its one thing to find a garbled address printed on an outgoing envelope because QRZ changed their format again; its another to have one's DXCC award credits scrambled.
