New version won't open older mdb

K5ZM

I've been away from DXK for quite a while and hope I'm not now going to be paying the price. I recently fired it up and saw that I'd missed quite a few upgrades (I THINK I was using either a late 5.7x or an early 6.x) so I installed 7.9.5.

Earlier today, I fired it up and tried to open my logs. I got error messages 'This log is in severe need of updating, but it's QSL queue is not empty. Use the version of DXKeeper you were using to clear it's queue.'

First off, I don't want to clear the queue (but will if I have to).

So I click 'ok' and get another message box telling me that it's unable to open (insert_pathname_here.mdb).

Is the fix just a matter of clicking the 'recover' button on the config pane?

tnx es 73!

FSK Control for Winwarbler

vk3ajj <vk3ajj@...>

Hello All

A few questions:

I am using a Microham microkeyer with Win Warbler and have set up a virtual com port (com 11) for RTTy FSK control.

I have selected com 11 under the rtty window in Winwarbler but each time I log out and log in again to Win Warbler the program changes to external FSK. What do I need to do to stop that from happening?

I am sure this has been suggested before - but would it also be possible to have common macros available for selection on the F key Winwarbler set up page. I can never remember them and it would nice to be able to insert them on the fly (ie an insert station call box etc). This functionality may be available via another method but have not nutted out how to do this easily

Cheers and Thanks
Paul

Try making a "Before New Backup app" restore point and then re-install your

Thanks Dave, that worked, but it took about three tries to get back far
enough. I THINK it was my back-up software that I just put on the computer
(and paid $50 for). Now I am afraid to re-install it for fear that it will
mess up DXK again! Any suggestions?

Sounds like the MMTTY engine was running, but died.
I rebooted everything and it is still the same.

In the Main window's "Operating Mode" panel, select RTTY. On the Config window's RTTY tab, is the Enabled box checked in the upper-left corner? With the Enabled box checked, is the "MMTTY Setup" button functional?

I went to Launcher and it had the "restore" button highlighted for WW, implying that WW had somehow gotten corrupted, but when I clicked on it, I received a message to the effect that it cannot delete the old program and operation aborted.

What the Launcher means by "Restore" is "make a minimized window appear at normal size on-screen" -- the same meaning as the option that appears when you right-click an icon on the Windows Task Bar. It has nothing to do with installation or de-installation, and is not an indicator of corruption.

Re: Envelope error 380

Dave AA6YQ

For whatever reason, changing the ink cartridge on your printer has resulted
in its responding with an error when DXKeeper attempts to set the paper
size. Since nothing in DXKeeper changed, this is likely a printer driver
issue, but please attach the errorlog.txt file from your DXKeeper folder to
an email message and send it my way.

Dave,
After changing the ink cartridge on an HP 6200 MF printer, I get the
following error:

"Printer error whiles addressing envelopes: unable to set specified
envelope size [code 380: Invalid property value]".

I have in "QSL config" reset the envelope size by selecting 3 5/8 x 6
1/2 from the menu (as it has been set for many months). I have turned
the printer off and on. I have restarted DXKeeper I have verified that
the printer does print. Basically all I did between "working" and
"non-working" was
1. Install new black cartridge.
2. Import QSO's from IARU-HF contest.

Suggestions for my next step very welcome.

Like the "Run" button on the Advanced window's "Script" panel, this lets you
select a script to run from DXKeeper's Scripts sub-folder. There is at
present no way to assign a specific button to always run a specific script

Re: Start script from a button in DXK

Hi Koen,

I'm not sure what you mean. I can run any script file in the script folders and I have a lot of them. I can run a simple filter statement like this one titled [My-Deleted-DXCC-Entities.txt]:

Filter DXCCID = '2' or DXCCID = '19' or DXCCID = '228' or DXCCID = '28' or DXCCID = '218' or DXCCID = '244' or DXCCID = '229' or DXCCID = '493' or DXCCID = '488'
Retain Filter

This one gives me my Deleted Entity QSOs

or this one titled [QSL-card-rcvd-DXCC-Totals.txt]:

Filter QSL_Rcvd in ('Y','V','S')
report DXCC DXCC.txt

This one gives me a QSL Card DXCC report

or one that modifies my log like this one titled [FIX-nonBureau-DXCC-via-from-D-to-B.txt]:

Filter QSL_SENT_VIA = 'B' and NOT (QSL_SENT = 'Y') and DXCCID ='3'
Modify QSL_SENT_VIA B //Afghanistan//

Filter QSL_SENT_VIA = 'B' and NOT (QSL_SENT = 'Y') and DXCCID ='4'
Modify QSL_SENT_VIA B //Agalega//

Filter QSL_SENT_VIA = 'B' and NOT (QSL_SENT = 'Y') and DXCCID ='12'
Modify QSL_SENT_VIA B //Anguilla//

. . . . <snip> . . .

That one has a total of 76 statements but I'm listing 3.
