Re: SC WSJT gateway question

Updating Bandmodes.txt got the nice result expected.

However I checked the date on the bandmodes.txt I was previously using and it was from 6/11/2005!

Since it doesn't get automatically replaced make sure to look at the date of your file and update to the latest!

SpotCollector is "stalled"

John K3TN

Bring up the programs, Spotcollector comes up, displays old spots. The cluster feeds connect and get green lights, I can look at the clusters and they are sending spots - but nothing shows up on Spotcollector main display.

I can see the Q number incrementing on the upper left of SC windows, and it goes back down to 0 but no new spots are shown. Scroll lock not showing.

On latest version of all DXLab components, restarted software, rebooted PC,  no joy.

Any hints?

Thanks and 73 John K3TN

Was in that area recently.  Not sure if I got their via spotcollector or dxkeeper.

Found what I was looking for...   but here is an update needed for both help files ( probably ).

I have had Digi confirmations for other new Digi contacts, but never for FT8 only.

The boxes for 160 through 10 are checked.  So are Phone, CW, Digi.  FT8 is in the selection box.  FT8 is also checked.

Windows 10. Trying to test the audio by clicking on the TEST boxes on the Audio Alarm tab.

The ENABLE box you mentioned was not checked! I had not seen it. Thank you very much!

Re: No audio in Spot Collector

What version of Windows?

How are you tying to test the audio announcements?

How are you trying to set the announcement level?

SpotCollector has no controls for output device - it *always* uses the
Windows Sound "Default Device". SpotCollector has no control for
playback level - the sound level is controlled by the "Spot Collector
Configuration" slider in the Windows Volume Mixer *for the default*
sound card?

Have you "checked" the enable box in the upper left corner of the
SpotCollector -> Configuration -> Audio Alarm tab?

"+ Thanks. Why is the connection being lost? Why is the error message "invalid udp address/port" rather than "connection lost"?"

I know that the node red setting remains unique & constant on client IP ;

adrian@debian:~$ sudo netstat -tulpn | grep 12061
udp        0      0 0.0.0.0:12061           0.0.0.0:*

When popup is oked to close, and netserv udp entry remade active it works again for many hours.

The connection works across the lan, and is not localhost.
Occassionly the network connection is lost for a short period and then auto restored by the router.

Re: SC WSJT gateway question

It does populate the specified fields but Commander freq and WSJT Band/freq are not changed.

For example I'm listening for new ones on 6m FT8 the a spot comes up in SC showing something in 10m FT8.  Double clicking the spot fills in the call, etc but freq does not change to 10m in either Commander or WSJT. I then need to use WSJT pull down to select 10m which Commander follows properly

+ When a Spot Database Entry for a station operating on 10m FT8 is double-clicked, SpotCollector can only direct Commander to QSY to the bottom of the 10m FT8 sub-band if the selected sub-band definition file contains an entry that defines the 10m FT8 sub-band. This requirement was missing from the "Selecting a Spot Database Entry" section of

https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/GettingStartedwithK1JTModesDirect

+ This defect in the documentation has been corrected.

I have a Node red flow connected to Commander Netserv UDP12061, however after some time the connection fails with an invalid udp address/port popup at Commander. Click ok and remake the entry active, restores the working state. Is it possible to have a auto retry function on fail at defined interval please ?

+ Let's first understand the problem's root cause before we start considering solutions. Why is Commander reporting an invalid UDP address/port?

I was on 10m FT8 and worked a VP2 station. He used LoTW. I did not have either Digi or FT8 confirmed in DXView. Later I did the "Sync LoTW QSLs". The DXKeeper report said 2 QSLs processed and "NO new confirmations of anything needed and previously unconfirmed". When I checked in DXKeeper, I found the VP2 station was now confirmed in the Digi and FT8!

Why didn't the report from LoTW show a new band/mode confirmation??

+ Do you have DXKeeper configured to pursue confirmations with all DXCC entities in a Digital mode or in FT8?

+ What boxes are checked in the "DXCC Bands & Modes" panel on DXKeeper's Configuration window's Awards tab?

Re: Sync LoTW QSOs strangeness

Dave AA6YQ

I had to read this a few times to make sure you weren't kidding (by pointing to my exact time ;-).
So, if I understand correctly, you're saying this defect causes it to keep reporting all QSOs accepted since the last upload, up until the time of my first "Sync"? Sounds like that would explain this behavior. I've never run into it before because I don't normally do more than one sync after an upload. I just happened to hit this by accident.

And in the first "Sync" after my last upload it reported 30-something QSOs processed, but then came back to 13 after that, so it's still a bit puzzling. Why didn't it continue to report the same 30-something?

+ The first 17-something were accepted prior to 0Z the specified date. The last 13 were accepted after 0Z on the specified date, and will continue to be reported by LoTW until it accepts one or more QSOs after that date.

For a while now, when doing a "Sync LoTW QSOs" in DXKeeper's QSL tab, the report never goes below "13 QSOs processed, 13 log entries updated". Sometimes, for example after I've done an upload, I'll first see some number above 13, then if I repeat the operation it'll again report a lucky 13 with each successive invocation.

+ What date and time appear beneath the "Sync LoTW QSOs" button?

+ When did you last submit new QSOs to LotW?

The date and time beneath the button never change each time I get
the 13 count: 5/19/2022 18:46:45 That is roughly six minutes after my last upload at 18:40:21 of the same day (and the last time the date/time changed).
+ There is a long-standing defect in the LoTW web service that DXKeeper uses to implement "Sync LoTW QSOs" and "Sync LoTW QSLs": when directed to report all QSOs newly accepted after 5/19/2022 18:46:45, for example, it reports all QSOs newly accepted after 5/19/2022 00:00:00. Thus if you continue to invoke "Sync LoTW QSOs", LoTW will continue to report all QSOs accepted between 5/19/2022 00:00:00 and 5/19/2022 18:46:45. Similar behavior occurs with "Sync LoTW QSLs".

+ I first reported this defect to the ARRL when LoTW first became publicly available ~19 years ago.

Thanks for the answer though, Dave.  I'll chalk it up to a long standing issue.
