editing the qso record, and adding/using country code 84, it found Martinique, and i was able to manually fix the log entries...

Bob -

Others can explain this better than I can, but TO is one of those prefixes that is "ambiguous"... as I understand it that prefix is issued by France to any one of a number of countries under the French "umbrella" and you need to identify which country it counts as on a case-by-case basis. This has been discussed here many times, but I don't recall all of the correct terms. Sometimes looking up the call in QRZ dot com will yield the correct information, but not always.

I know that VE3DZ was very active, signing FM/VE3DZ for some days prior to the contest.

I am quite sure that TO4A is Martinique, operated by VE3DZ.

Spot Collector phonetics

Previously I wrote:

SC configuration appears in the Windows 10 Volume Mixer and the DX!.wav and Joe DX 2.wav work. On the pathnames panel the Phonetics\Speed1 file is selected. What else is required?

After a bit of sleuthing, Dave discovered that my Audio Alarm tab, in the Sound Folder Pathnames panel, contained C:\DXLab\SpotCollector\Sounds\Phonetics\Speed1 when it should have said only

C:\DXLab\SpotCollector\Sounds\Phonetics.  The speed at which the phonetics are sounded is determined by the slider in the Announce callsign phonetically panel, not by specifying the folder.

Many thanks to Dave for solving this problem.

Dave, thank you for responding. I know that Speed1 is a folder, not a file. I just mischaracterized it in my message. The .wav files in the fully-populated folder perform correctly when individually selected. I checked the “Disable all sound effects” box. The announce callsigns box contains TE1ST, which does not sound when the Test button is selected. I believe that all elements of the wiki are in place, but no joy. What else should I do?

+ Please make a screen shot of the "Audio Alarm" tab of SpotCollector's Configuration window, attach the screen shot to an email message, and send the message to me via

All aspects of Audio Alarm work well

except for the call sign phonetics. Although enabled, even the test button produces no sound. SC configuration appears in the Windows 10 Volume Mixer and the DX!.wav and Joe DX 2.wav work. On the pathnames panel the Phonetics\Speed1 file is selected.

What else is required?

+ In SpotCollector's Sounds folder, Phonetics\Speed1 is a folder, not a file. Does it contain a .wav file for each number and letter?

+ If not, you can obtain them from

https://www.dxlabsuite.com/spotcollector/Phonetics.exe

+ This self-extracting executable contains the folders Speed1, Speed2, and Speed3, each populated with .wav files for numbers and letters. Configure SpotCollector to choose the Speed folder you prefer.

It seems I'm barking op the wrong tree.
I tried to start the PC with only DXLab running. And then I had no problem with Spotcollector. So it could be either WSJT-X or JTAlert giving the problem. Strange enough I have now the system running for half an hour and everything is working with no problems. So I started WSJT-X and JTAlert and then Spotcollector stopped working after a few minutes. So I'm dealing with some kind of internal conflict between Spotcollector, WSJT-X and JTAlert. But which of the programs giving the problem I don't have the knowledge to find out.

+ My suspicion after your first post was "interference from misconfigured anti-malware", but that's clearly not the case.

+ So that I can see what's going on, please do the following:

1. on the General tab of SpotCollector's Configuration window, check the "Log debugging info" box

2. terminate SpotCollector

3. start SpotCollector, and wait until at least 5 new Spot Database Entries have been created

4. start WSJT-X, and wait for at least 5 decoding cycles

5. start JTAlert, and wait for a least 5 more WSJT-X decoding cycles

6. if SpotCollector hasn't already "stopped working", wait until it does so

7. on the General tab of SpotCollector's Configuration window, uncheck the "Log debugging info" box

8. attach the errorlog.txt file from your SpotCollector folder to an email message, and send the message to me via

Spotcollector stops working

Gorm Helt-Hansen

Hi.

Using the following: DXSPOTS.COM; MAYODX.ATH.CX; US.WORLDRC.ORG.

Starting up - everything works fine. After a short time downloading spots stops. The two Telnet  DXClusters is green, but I can not communicate with them. Do not react on connect / disconnect. The status LEDs is green but no download of spots. The IRC US.WORLDRC.ORG goes red and after some time goes yellow. After some time the two Telnet leds goes yellow.
No one react on my trying to connect / disconnect. I tried to load a disk image from a time everything worked ok. No change.
Pse - any suggestions ??

Don't forget there is an additional CI-V port on the rear of the IC-7300.
I use it for rig control, and use the USB CI-V port for the N1MM spectrum display.
