Discovered that when using Win10 multiple monitors, tool tips for sliders only show up when the Commander window is displayed in "Monitor 1." Other tool tips in window work as advertised. Wow....

Re: ELIMINATING DUPLICATE QSOS

I have roughly 12500 duplicate QSOs in my log file. All of the duplicates curiously have “jj00aa” filled in the Grid 1 box of the award section of the main display page. Is there a way I can filter and delete these or get rid of these dupes other than manually?

+ DXKeeper includes a function that identifies duplicate QSOs so that you can delete them en masse. It works by checking each QSO in your log against every other QSO; the bigger the log, the longer it takes:

https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/RemovingDuplicates

+ However, if every QSO in your log whose Gridsquare item is set to JJ00aa is a duplicate QSOs that you wish to delete, then there is a simpler and faster alternative:

1. Backup your log (Configuration window, Log tab, Backup button)

2. On the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab, click the Adv button above the "Log Page Display"; the "Advanced Sorts, Filters, and Modifiers" window will appear

3. In the "Advanced Sorts, Filters, and Modifiers" window's "SQL Query Filters" panel, set the first empty "SQL expression" box to

GRIDSQUARE='JJ00aa'

and then click the Filter button to its right

4. On the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab, confirm that the ~12,500 QSOs in the "Log Page Display" are exactly the ones you want deleted.

5. While depressing your keyboard's CTRL key, click the Delete button above the "Log Page Display".

Re: ODDITY WITH DXLABS AND STATIONMASTER

Greg

Thanks for the tips.  I did confirm that USB Selective Suspends were disabled.  I have set the interval on Commander from 200ms to 160ms to match your settings. And I found the Router log and have it capturing the dataflow back and forth to hopefully identify when the undesired event happens.  I am not exactly sure that the settings are the same between the Preset for WSJT and for DXLABS but they appear to be as far as I can tell.  I have captured the file from the cat log and it appears that the router is not receiving info. So I am updating the firmware just in case.  Have not been able to duplicate things this evening so I will try again tomorrow.

This is what it took for me to get everything working.   No matter what version of any of the programs, they worked fine on my older Win 8.1.  The trouble started with crappy 11.  As you stated, Runtime 5.0.13 has been updated on HamApps.  I will try that so that I can get back to the preferred JTAlert 2.5!!!  Can not wait for any new version!

Thank you for your reply!!

Re: DXCC credit error

Dave AA6YQ

I have a mismatch between DXKeeper and LOTW. LOTW reports 250 confirmed DXCC country credits on 40m and DXKeeper reports 251. I filtered my log display to only include 40m Q's and then ran the "Update from LoTW" routine. I reviewed the resulting report and did not see any indication of the wrongfully credited country.

+ The "Update from LoTW" function does not identify discrepancies. It updates your logged QSOs to reflect their confirmation and award credit status as reported by LoTW. It would not report a logged QSO erroneously marked as "DXCC award credit granted"

Is there another way to compare the credits to find the mismatch?

+ Yes. See

The NET 5.0.12 Desktop Runtime is perfectly fine for JTAlert 2.5.x. Earlier versions of the NET 5 Desktop Runtime are acceptable as well. The files linked on HamApps are done because of the large number of users who had trouble with the Microsoft download page and would install the incorrect non-desktop runtime. While HamApps has the 5.0.12 runtime links the latest is 5.0.13.

The links on HamApps will be updated today.

BTW, I am still running 5.0.10 of the desktop runtime with JTAlert 2.50.9 (the latest) without issue on my Ham PC.

In the QSL window how do I get to auto fill the QSL address.
I have been using the CBA button and that works fine but to slow to do that for every QSO.

+ To add a postal address to an entry in the QSL Queue, double-click the entry. In the "QSL Editor" window that appears, click the "Callsign lookup" panel's Callsign or Manager button as appropriate; then click the Save button.

+ If you want each QSO to automatically be augmented with Callbook information when it's logged via DXKeeper's Capture window or via its Main window's "Log QSOs" tab, check the "Automatically use callbook data to initialize new QSOs" box in the lower-right corner of the Configuration window's Callbook tab.

DX Keeper not accepting some calls from WSJT nor JT Alert-SOLVED

Steven

System is Win11, DXKeeper 16.3.2, WSJT 2.5, JtAlert 2.5, Windows Runtime 5.0.12

Been working correctly for two days.  First, uninstalled McFee;  Found out that there was an uninstall for McFee by doing a search to get rid of the rest of the stuff.  That helped, but not completely.  For some reason, can not find a newer mouse driver (2006) then what came with 11 late last 2021.  So, running the mouse driver in Win 8 mode.  Same as WSJT and JTAlert.

Finally, went backwards and installed JTAlert 2.16.17, running in Win 8 mode.  BINGO!  It's back working as should be!  I had read that JTAlert 2,5, which I really liked, needed a newer version of Windows Runtime and just could not find anything newer then the 5.0.12, available in HamApps.  If you find a newer version, please let me know.

Is there a simple way to monitor for needed spots on a pc in my office? I would like to turn pc off in my radio room and setup my office pc for needed spots. What are my options? Thanks

+ Your options are

1. leave SpotCollector running in your radio room, and access SpotCollector's web server from a web browser on your office PC:

https://www.dxlabsuite.com/spotcollector/Help/WebBrowser.htm

2. Install a SpotCollector on your office PC, copy your log file from your radio room PC to a free Dropbox account, and configure SpotCollector in your office to refer to your log file on Dropbox. When you log a "new one", copy your updated log file from your radio room PC to your DropBox account.

Re: TQSL option to use grid and other data from ADIF

Dave AA6YQ

+ AA6YQ comments below

I am not sure I am asking this the right way. I do many many POTA activations and its really tedious to have to create a station location and then a matching QTH in DXKeeper for LOTW uploads.

I heard there was some feature in TQSL that allowed LOTW to use the grid, state info from the ADIF file.

+ Correct: open TQSL, go to the preferences pane, select the "Log Handling" tab, and then click on "Override Station Location with QTH details from your log". According to TQSL developer Rick K1MU, TQSL will then ignore the information in the selected Station Location and instead use the information in the QSO's MY_GRIDSQUARE, MY_COUNTRY, MY_STATE, MY_COUNTRY items - but I have not personally tested this.

You no longer have to create a new station location for roaming operations.

+ On DXKeeper's "Export QSOs" tab, check the Options panel's "Export ADIF for LoTW" and "Export QTH definitions" boxes.

I log my POTA activations using Aclog from N3FJP, but my main station log is DXLabs, and has been for 12 years. But entering hundreds of contacts is so much faster in ACLOG.

+ If you are initially logging your QSOs on paper (as opposed to logging them with a portable computer), use this technique to rapidly enter them form your paper log into DXKeeper:

https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxkeeper/Help/LogCompletedMain.htm

+ Familiarizing yourself with the available keyboard shorts will accelerate the process:

https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxkeeper/Help/KeyboardShortcuts.htm#Main%20window%20shortcuts

So I use that to create my ADIF that I send to POTA, and then import the contacts into DXKeeper. But I have to create a station and QTH first.

+ You will have to create and populate a myQTH in DXKeeper for each park from which you operate, but the above technique should eliminate the need to create a new "Station Location" in TQSL for each park.

Thanks a lot, Steve, to make me aware of this new feature and to Dave for implementing this. Luckily I can still separate the red and green dots in the spot sources but I see my ability of separating the colours degrading year by year when I have to do the color test for my yearly renewal of my drivers license. Therefore it's a question of age at the end as well if you will need this option or not to make the life easier.
