Re: VUCC anomalies

Hi Joe,

I'm not interested in cards at all, only LoTW confirmations.

But, when I tried your expression, it returns "Invalid filter expression...."

I'm puzzled by the APP_DXKeeper_LotWConfimration like '*G*' part though. What is the like 'G*' doing? I can't see a reference to that anywhere, although I was assuming GRID.

I had hoped to filter out non-digital contacts, but I don't think VUCC separates or makes any distinction between modes.

Phil,

I use:

BAND='6m' and ((APP_DXKeeper_LotW_QSL_RCVD in ('Y','V') and
APP_DXKeeper_LotWConfimration like '*G*') or QSL_RCVD in
('Y','V') or VUCCVerified in 'S','V')

That gives Grids confirmed by LotW and Card (note it will have
duplicate grids) - and you can print a log report ... add 'R'
to the two QSL_RCVD terms to get a list of stations/grids
worked.

If you are just interested just the grid numbers - not a list
of QSOs, use the VUCC Real Time Award Tracking.

Not only have I managed a good few new grids, but also a good number of new entities on the band.

Looking at my VUCC status on LoTW, I am credited with 205 grids, obviously ones confirmed via LoTW.
However, when I invoke the VUCC report in DXKeeper, I am seeing a very different number.
It says 239 worked, and 202 confirmed.
So there are 3 that aren't matching the LoTW VUCC total.
I can clearly see that a good number aren't confirmed on LoTW, so that will account for the higher number.

So, to try and see what is going on, I filtered my log wit the SQL expression
band='6m' and mode not in ('cw','ssb','fm' ) and APP_DXKeeper_LotW_QSL_RCVD='y'
but that shows 162 worked and 158 confirmed.

Now, there are some where the QSO is confirmed on LoTW, but they have not put a grid in their TQSL setup, so do not count for VUCC, but, the grid is known from the FT8 contact.

In short, I guess the only way to get some kind of a match between what is logged in DXKeeper and what LoTW is crediting me with is to find a way to match those contacts.
Is there a simple way to do this?

SQL Filter Help Needed

Dale Drake

I've been working toward the JARL Worked All JA Award for a while.  I'm at the point where I need just a few more prefectures.  A couple of months ago, with Dave's help, I created an SC filter that shows the spots for the 2 JA call districts that include the remaining prefectures that I need.  Unfortunately those call districts also contain numerous other prefectures that I already have confirmed.  The other problem with my filter is that it also includes spots for stations I've already worked.  I thought about using the Special Callsigns feature by using the prefixes but it seems that wildcards won't work in the Special Callsigns list or at least I can't figure out how .

What would be most desirable would be to build a filter that would show spots of stations not already worked that are in the needed districts but further filter to only the needed prefectures using a pathfinder look up.  If that's not possible if I could at least modify my existing filter to not include spots of stations I've already worked (and I'll worry about the prefecture separately) it would make things easier.

Any help with this is appreciated!

I have, in the past, run DXLab (etc) on windows, on VMware Fusion, on an Intel based Mac. It ran pretty well, actually: https://www.qrz.com/db/c6asz%20

That said, what virtualization and OS combination are you planning on, to support DXLab running on M1? Last check, doesn’t look like either Parallels or VMware Fusion + Win10 was going to be viable due to Windows licensing considerations:  https://blogs.vmware.com/teamfusion/2021/04/fusion-on-apple-silicon-progress-update.html

Slugging away at fixing my WAS status in DXK. Over 4700 Q's deep in the report and have been setting any contact check marked to 'V' in my log when it suddenly dawned on me that I might have just screwed myself again! I should have asked this several hours ago but what the heck does "Awarded" (green check) vs "Selected" (black check) mean ? If the black checks do not have anything to with awarded WAS credit, what the h--- are they doing there and HOW did they get there ?

My fingers are about worn out and I have WAY to many WAS Verified contacts so, not only am I upset with myself for several reasons, I am thoroughly PO'd at LOTW for being ambiguous in their markings !

+ The meaning of the colored checkmarks is described here, just beneath the 2nd screen shot:

You are right, Dave. However, it was the shortcut that was the issue. Upgrading did not change it but maybe it was not supposed to.

+ The shortcut doesn't need to change from one version to the next -- unless you changed it to a version-specific pathname.

Think I found the explanation of the black check mark - marked for inclusion in a future application. Why ?? Again my fault for not checking first but AAARRRGGGHH !!! Makes less than no sense !!

Doesn't the installer copy the new .exe to dxlablauncher.exe so the shortcut never needs to change?
Check and see if you have a file called
C:\DXLab\Launcher\DXLabLauncher.exe
That exactly matches size and date of 2.14.

The change described is one I never make for upgrades

Your mileage may vary if course ....

Setting up DXLab applications has been quite a learning experience.

I have achieved success receiving texts on my phone with cluster spots.
Unfortunately, I receive everything! The pain of ignorance!

I am working on my DXCC Challenge. I have 2178 entities, so new ones not as common as they once were.

My question is how do I configure things to only text me what I only need and not endless routine DX.

+ In the "Email Alarm trigger" panel on the Configuration window's "Email Alarm" tab, select "Needed". This is step 6 in

https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/eMailAnnouncements

+ The reference documentation describing this functionality is here:

Re: Launcher V2.1.2 wont upgrade to V2.1.4

Dave AA6YQ

When I open the launcher, it reads"new app upgrades". The current version is V2.1.2 and the upgrade is V2.1,4. When I click the upgrade button, it reads that it will terminate so it can be upgraded and the upgraded version will start automatically. I click OK and it does shut down and restarts. After it restarts and I click config it shows V2.1.4 is installed. However, when I close launcher and reopen it, the same" New app upgrades" message appears and when I click config, it shows V2.1.2 as installed and the upgrade as V2.1.4 so it isn't upgrading.

+ You have two copies of the Launcher application. The Launcher upgrades the copy whose pathname is specified on its Configuration window's "DXLab Apps" tab, but you're starting the other instance.

WAE is the only contest that does this.

One way would be to look at the report. If it isn't ### or ## or -## or +##
then it's not a QSO

+ What do the report fields contain in QSOs derived from QTCs?

+ Are there any other differentiators?
