WAE is the only contest that does this.

When I contest using N1MM, I shut the Gateway down (it can slow down your computer response) and do an Export once the contest is done. That Export in ADIF format is then used to Import QSOs into DXKeeper. Yes, it takes some extra steps, but I find it works well and is a lot cleaner operation.

When just DXing, I have the option of using N1MM and the Gateway OR just use DXCapture in DXLab.

One way would be to look at the report. If it isn't ### or ## or -## or +##
then it's not a QSO

I don't see any option in the gateway selection to not do this.

+ The N1MM Gateway sends each QSO to DXKeeper that N1MM reports logging.

+ How would the Gateway distinguish a "real" QSO reported by N1MM from a QTC
reported by N1MM?

+ Pete doesn't want the QTCs logged in DXKeeper. The problem is that N1MM is reporting them a logged QSOs, and the N1MM-DXKeeper
Gateway is logging them to DXKeeper.

+ If there's a way to distinguish a "real QSO" being reported as logged by N1MM from a QTC being reported as logged by N1MM, then I
can update the Gateway to ignore the QTCs. If possible to implement, this doesn't sound like it should be an option.

Hi Dave,

OK, I see. If the DE call is included then the QTC will not have the operators call in it. QTCs are other stations the contest QSO partner has worked.

Fixing DXKeeper vs LOTW for WAS Made "Easier"

Mike Rhodes / W8DN

This info may be old hat to many but, for anyone who, like me, has a tendency to jump into things without thoroughly reading or understanding what they are getting in to, could be valuable.
As noted a few days ago, I realized that I had foolishly created a completely unreasonable amount of pain for myself and probably contributed considerably more $ to the ARRL WAS program than I would have had to had I spent a little time learning the correct way to do a WAS submission using DXK. But I didn't so now I am fixing things manually since LOTW WAS does not provide a way to clean things up like DXCC does !!
I started out by listing the award (80 meter WAS) in LOTW and soon found out I had to click on the call to get the often required band and mode info to select the right contact in my log. UGHHH !!! Not good !!
Today I realized I could do a "Your QSOs" LOTW log search, choosing my call, Confirmed QSOs Only, United States, and the WAS Award Account. This still results in a lengthy listing which is limited to 25 Q's per page and EVERYTHING that is eligible for a WAS award of some type shows up BUT, the Verified Q's show a check mark and ALL the contact info is there. Another advantage is, all the contacts with any given station show up so you can update all the occurrences with a single search. This may help ease the pain of other cleanups I haven't realized I need to do yet too !
Painful, yes ! Well earned pain, yes ! Smart enough to avoid another similar occurrence? The jury is still out.

Thanks Dave. Solved. I had a script that wasn't quite right. My error was
in the generate report command. Instead of "Report WPX ...." I had "Report
Log ..." So I was getting the whole filtered log! Forest for the trees!
Thanks for the help.

I'm looking to compile a WPX report similar to the CQ Report I use under
DXK's "Check Progress" tab. So, if I've worked 3 "AA6"
prefixes, I only need one in the report, but the report produced by my
script shows every "AA6" prefix. "Eliminating repeating prefixes" means
each prefix shown should be distinct - no repeated values in the report,
just one for each prefix from the Geratol filtered log.

+ Filter the Log Page Display to contain only your Geratol QSOs. Then
+ click the Progress button in the "CQ WPX" panel on the Main
window's "Check Progress" tab. DXKeeper will display a small window asking
if you want the Log Page Display filter removed; click the "No" button.

+ To do this in a script, use the appropriate Filter command followed by
+ the

Report WPX Reportfilename

+ command to generate the report, as described in

Re: SQL question

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the suggestion, but actually I’m hoping to do just the opposite.  My Geratol log, records., etc. are now in Excel.  I want to get everything together in DXK because I’m finding that it gets a bit difficult to keep track of bits and pieces of logs spread out over several apps.  Geratol QSOs that started over 30 years ago, and after a number of years of DXK I’m hooked by its functionality.  So, I can keep things the way they are, but would like to log completely in DXK   (like I do with FISTS & SKCC).  But, as you say, “if all else fails …”

Mike,
While not as elegant as being able to do it within DXKeeper (if possible), could you export to a tab delimited file, import into EXCEL (or a clone) and do what you want to do there? I know that will be painful if your intent is to QSL those selected stations but, if all else fails....
