I am trying to print Avery 8161 labels…. DXlab is set for 8161

+ DXKeeper does not provide label-specific settings like  "Avery 8161" because of the variation among printer models.

and all the margins seem fine .. I have margins on the printer off…. But…but when I try to print Keeper says “column 2 offset too large” and “bottom label row exceeds height maximum of 9.759 inches.

+ Those error messages are accurate. Check the "Print preview" box, generate a print preview, note the dimensions displayed at the top of the print preview, and note where the labels are placed relative to the paper outline.

+ The height maximum of 9.759 inches implies that you have not selected the correct paper dimension (8.5" x 11").

Marv,

Dim4 has an issue if you have the program setup to 'rotate' through time servers.  If it gets to a server that is no longer available, it stops dead and does not try to find the next one in the list.

The fix I used was to delve into the Advanced settings and find a time server as close as possible to my location, then set the program to only use that server.   You need to make sure that the server allows 'anonymous' access.

I've been trying to write the needed SQL filter today but I haven't had much luck. Could someone lend a hand.

I need an SQL filter to produce a log with 6M QSOs that are not from the US, in other words DX only, and if possible if they are confirmed via card or LOTW or both.

+ "6m QSOs" => (Band = '6m')

+ "not from the US" => (DXCCPrefix <> 'K')

+ "confirmed via card or LOTW or both" => (QSL_RCVD in ('Y','V')) or (APP_DXKEEPER_LOTW_QSL_RCVD in ('Y','V'))

+ The use of

QSL_RCVD in ('Y','V'))

+ is shorthand for

(QSL_RCVD = 'Y') or (QSL_RCVD='V')

+ This is necessary for both QSL_RCVD and APP_DXKEEPER_LOTW_QSL_RCVD because a QSO can be "confirmed" ('Y') or "confirmed with DXCC award credit granted" ('V').

+ You can test each of the above fragments individually. Then put them all together:

(Band = '6m') and (DXCCPrefix <> 'K') and (QSL_RCVD in ('Y','V')) or (APP_DXKEEPER_LOTW_QSL_RCVD in ('Y','V'))

+ If you provide columns in the Log Page Display for QSL_RCVD and APP_DXKEEPER_LOTW_QSL_RCVD, you'll be able to see exactly how each QSO is confirmed.

Re: Report

Joe Subich, W4TV

The following works to show *exactly* those QSOs (except for the one
from US) for which ARRL has given me credit:

DXCCID <> "291" and Band='6M' and (QSL_RCVD = 'V' or APP_DXKeeper_LotW_QSL_RCVD = 'V')

DXCCID <> "291" -- exclude QSOs with the USA mainland
BAND = '6M' --- QSOs on 6 meters
QSL_RCVD = 'V' --- credit for card submission
APP_DXKeeper_LotW_QSL_RCVD = 'V' --- credit for LotW submission

You can sort the DXKeeper Log Page Display by DXCC Prefix (double
click on the Prefix heading) and display your Logbook DXCC Awards
status for 6 Meters (Awards -> DXCC -> 6M ... select "All credits"
and Sort list by Prefix) and directly compare the two lists. Any
differences will be instantly obvious. Removing "DXCCID <> "291"
results in the two lists being identical in my case (when I use
a version of the SQL below since I have (pending) LotW credits that
have not been submitted).

If you have a pending submission (cards/LotW credit marked for
submission but not yet processed by ARRL) - then the following
works better:

DXCCID <> "291" and BAND ='6M' and (QSL_RCVD in ('S','V') or APP_DXKeeper_LotW_QSL_RCVD in ('S','V'))

There is no predefined report that does what you want.

However, you can filter the log page display to display
QSOs on 6M that have been verified either LotW or Card,
define a log display that shows the data as you want and
then use the REPORT button on the log page display to
print the report.

See the DXKeeper Help file for the Check Progress tab.

ok... I might have found something, I rebooted as you suggested, then launched dxview and it behaved as planned - then i lunched wsjtx and the jtalert then the issue came back! so looks like the issue is with in jtalert... now let me see if I can find the why there...

If JTAlert is repeatedly sending the WSJT-X DXCall to DXView it will be because JTAlert is getting repeated updates on the DXCall. Based on recent similar issues, the problem is very likely incorrect configuration in JTAlert, specifically, the "Resend WSJT-X UDP packets..." setting, under the "Applications -> WSJTX/JTDX" section of the Settings window, is enabled with the port incorrectly set to the same port that JTAlert is listening to for UDP data from WSJT-X.

Typically these incorrect setups have the port set to 2237 which is the default port that WSJT-X is sending to. A feedback loop is created where JTAlert is repeatedly resending the UDP packets back to its input.

This has become a common enough problem in recent weeks I am starting to believe that there is some incorrect setup instructions floating around and people are applying these changes without any understanding of what they are doing. If the changes were made to fulfill a specific multi-app setup, it would not be working, so it is best to just turn off that setting or at a minimum change the port to something other than 2237.

FWIW, by default this setting is NOT enabled and the default port is 2334. Any changes from these defaults can only happen by the end-user modifying them.

Alternatively there is another WSJT-X interacting application running and it is re-sending the UDP data to port 2237 (or whatever the UDP Server port is set to in WSJT-X).
