Re: Challenges with DXCC/Challenge submission using LOTW confirmations

+ Have you tried using the Wiki's built-in search facilities?

+ Searching the Article Index is also effective.

I have, with varying degrees of success, which is why I tend to just default to using what Google has indexed of the site and I tend to find what I'm looking for more quickly. That is just my experience though.

Thanks for the index page Dave.

+ It contains the same information as

<https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/ArticleIndex>

+ which has long been available.

I'm not sure how you have those tabs added, but if you then click on any of those other tabs (Recent Changes, Find Page, Help Contents), the MyStartingPage disappears and only comes back if you click on the icon to go back "home".

+ As far as I know, those tabs are entirely controlled by the Wiki mechanism. I cannot make them appear or disappear, or control what pages they display.

The heLp contents are quite thorough and contain a wealth of information, but I've always had difficulty finding things when looking for it. Sometimes I know just what I'm looking for, because I've been there more than a few times, and head there through the Getting Started (http://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/GettingStarted) section and going to the HTML docs for DXKeeper (or other application).

+ There are search facilities provided at the top of every Article in the Wiki:

" You can also find goal-oriented articles via the FindPage tab in the upper-left corner of each Wiki page; when clicked, Title Search and Full-text Search capabilities become available; the FindPage tab also provides access to a TitleIndex and a WordIndex. Each article also provides Titles and Text search buttons in its upper-right corner."

Most of the time I have found it more useful to go to Google what I'm looking for appended with DXKeeper and using that to find the relevant doc in the help section.

Re: DXKeeper grid search?

You can use a SQL query to filter your log.

Grid 1 field name is GridSquare
Grid 2 field name is App_DXKeeper_Grid2
Grid 3 is App_DXKeeper_Grid3
Grid 4 is App_DXKeeper_Grid4

I've had some problems with my logbook and RST snt/rcv (missing from a lot of QSOs). I can use ADIF Master to repair these but I can't find an option -> Import QSO -> Overwrite Duplicates.

+ Let me be certain that I understand: you'd like to apply the same corrections to multiple QSOs in your log. You know you can do that with ADIF Master, but you don't know how to incorporate the changes back into your log.

+ Do I have it right?

+ If so, take a look at

https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxkeeper/Help/ModifyLog.htm

+ Be sure to backup your log before using the "Modify QSOs" panel: Configuration window, Log tab, Backup button.

+ Note: to do this with ADIF Master, you'd have to export all of your QSOs to an ADIF file, use ADIF Master to make the desired changes, delete all of the QSOs in your log, and then import the ADIF file created by ADIF. Using DXKeeper's "Modify QSOs" panel to make changes "en masse" is much simpler and less prone to operator error.

Re: Help

Are the modes checked as well? Is Include QSOs with no prop checked as well? is the Realtime Award Progress checked?

When clicking the Year, Category, Score Sheet Info button, what is set for the Current Year value?

I would start with something like this.

1.On the awards tab of DXKeeper config, click the Year, Category, Score Sheet info button.
2. Set the Current year to 2020, fill out the other information as desired.
3a. On the Awards tab of the config window, check all of the bands you wish to include in the Marathon Bands & Modes section
3b. Check the modes you want
3c. Check the Include QSOs with no prop checkbox and the Realtime Award Progress checkbox
3d. Set the Max TX power field to blank.
4. On DXKeeper's Check Progress tab, click the Recompute button at the bottom
5. When the recompute has finished, click the Progress button of the CQ DX Marathon section on the Check Progress tab. This should tell you that your QSOs are being calculated. If so, go ahead and do the submission with your scoresheet from DX Marathon. Then reset your marathon stuff for 2021.

Selections are not made on the "application" webpage.

Start by selecting *CLEAR ALL* on the application page.  The go to "My QSOs" page, select your DXCC account, search for Confirmations
(QSLs) from each station (or for each country), place a check mark beside those QSLs DXKeeper has selected and click "Submit DXCC Credit Changes".

This process will populate the "Application" web page with (only) those QSLs selected by DXKeeper.

BTW, LotW simply selects confirmations on a "first received" basis.

I would be surprised if you received an error that wasn't explained what the error was. There should also have been another line to that error that provided a link for corrective action.

Re: First newbie question

Dave AA6YQ

* AA6YQ comments below

I want to create a new archive log with my full DXbase log. I created an ADIF file with all 127K QSO's.

* You exported this ADIF file from DXBase, correct?

The Getting Started instructions advise me to put my DXbase ADIF into the DXKeeper folder before importing.

* To which "Getting Started" instructions are you referring?

But the program seems to want to import a .mdb database file instead of a .adi ADIF file. I do have a W1EBI.mdb database file in my DXbase directory. However, I see DXKeeper has already created a W1EBI.mdb file. But I can't seem to get DXKeeper to import the ADIF file, which I created for the specific purpose of creating my archive log in DXKeeper. What am I not understanding here?

* The W1EBI.mdb file in DXKeeper's Databases folder is where DXKeeper will record the QSOs you log or import.

* To import an ADIF file, use the facilities on the Main window's "Import QSOs" tab, as described here:

https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/QSOImport

* In step 3.b, set the "ADIF style options" panel to the version of DXBase you used to export the ADIF file you're about to import; this is necessary because ADIF files exported by DXBase do not comply with the ADIF specification.

* If you haven't already reviewed

"Switching to DXKeeper from Another Logging Application"

* I strongly suggest doing so:

https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/SwitchingToDXKeeper
