DXKeeper is normally minimised - I only "restore" it when I need to look at something, or perform an action, such as LoTW sync. If that action takes time, I will usually want to interact with some other applications in the meantime. Screen real estate is precious these days. I have three monitors on my desktop, and still have to deal with overlapping quite a bit. The DXLab Suite is not the only thing I run, by far. Anything that overlaps *and* insists on being "always on top"
(of other applications) is quite annoying. Typically if an application wants to prevent the user from interacting when some task is being completed, a modal dialog would be used.

+ Modal dialogs would stop all background activity, which is not acceptable.

Yes, but "Always on top" is not limited to DXKeeper - it's "always on top" of *all* applications, interfering with the ability to work on other unrelated tasks.

+ "Always on Top" windows can be dragged from one monitor location to another. The next time they appear, they will appear where you last dragged them. So you can arrange for the "always on top" windows created by DXKeeper to always appear atop your DXKeeper window. Or you can arrange one spot on your monitor to be where all DXLab "Always on Top" windows will appear.

I am running the DXLab suite with WSJT-X 2.2.2 and JTAlert 2.16.8. JTAlert directs DXKeeper to log a QSO by referencing QRZ. Last night I worked OD5KU in Lebanon and DXkeeper logged DXCC as "K-United States" with a name and QTH in Indiana. QRZ has the correct name and QTH so I cannot figure out where the incorrect name and QTH came from. Any idea what caused this error?

+ When DXKeeper is directed by JT-Alert to log a QSO, it does so without modifying any of the information received from JT-Alert.

I have a Yaesu FT-2000 as radio 1 on port 5 that is working fine. I have a Yeasu FT-847 as radio 2 that was working fine on port 3.
Recently Commander lost control of the 847. The Commander Port tab showed it on port 3 as before but when I checked the Multi Radio
tab it had the 847 on port 5.

When I tried ti reset it for Port 3 I got the error message "Multi radio 2s' port settings from the settings now specified in the
Primary CAT serial port panel on Configuration window's Ports tab? Yes or No"

+ That's not an error message. Commander is asking you if you want your change propagated to the MultiRadio tab,.

Clicking YES changes the port of radio 2 to port 5 same as radio1. I moved the
FT-847 to ports 6 and 7 and get the same response.
What am I missing?

+ Your report above indicates that either settings are being inadvertently modified, or the Windows Registry has been modified. Did
you direct the Launcher to load a previously-saved Workspace?

+ Select the FT-847 as your primary transceiver. Select the appropriate serial port and other settings so that Commander can
control it. Then Update the MultiRadio panel to reflect those settings.

Thanks Rich!  I was unaware of those settings.  Using the Mark offset I was able to get WW's and the Flex VFO frequency to align. However the displayed waveform shift I described previously still exists.  I'm simply curious more than anything and sent you the screenshots in a separate email to get your opinion.

Thanks again for all of the help guys!

Ok, that’s it. I get it - thanks very much. I was leading myself on a wild goose chase by not noticing I’d enabled the “Include Entity name with DXCC prefix” option and expected to be able to search for the name in that field. Now I understand your previous expression suggestions and will use them.

As always, thanks for all the help!

Thanks Dave. But that’s not what I’m seeing, at least not for the DXCC field, per my original post. I use:

(QTH LIKE '*<filtertextbox>*') or (DXCCPrefix LIKE '*<filtertextbox>*’)

type, “Belarus” in the text box and the search results are empty.

+ The word Belarus is never going to appear in a DXCCPrefix item, so your expression is effectively

(QTH LIKE '*<filtertextbox>*')

+ I also get an empty result with that expression. While DXKeeper doesn't stop you from typing Belarus into a QSO's QTH item, it's callbook lookup mechanism populates a QSO's QTH item with a city name, not an entity name. That's why I suggested querying the ADDRESS item in addition to the QTH item.

If I type the actual call and search so that I do find the QSO’s and can see what’s IN the DXCC field, it shows “EW - Belarus” So at least for that field, “LIKE” doesn’t seem to include the idea of “contains”.

+ The DXCCPrefix item does not contain the full entity name. You have evidently enabled the "Include Entity name with DXCC prefix" option, so DXKeeper will display the full entity name in the Log Page Display's DXCCPrefix column, but the item itself -- which is what the SQL LIKE operator searches -- only contains the entity prefix.

And the QTH term doesn’t help because the city, not the country was filled in there.

Also, when I type “Belarus” in the text box and hit “DXCC” what comes up is a bunch of “BY - China” ’s only which seems confusing. My confusion about that might be related to my not understanding the rest. Why does it do that ?

+ The filter panel's DXCC button is defined to interpret the contents of the Filter panel textbox as a callsign, and populate the Log Page Display with all logged QSOs having the same DXCC entity as that callsign. Callsigns beginning with BE are assigned to China:

Ok, got it.  Thanks for the advice.  Still, Id like to know how to compose SQL expressions using something like contains.  Looking over my log, there are lots of QSOs with country names spelled as I would expect, like Belarus, included with other text.  Sometimes it might be just easier to search by that name rather than do a look-up in DXView.  Also, it seems like something I should understand how to do coming up the learning curve on DXK in general anyway.  Is there such a comparison operator ?

+ The SQL expression

QTH like '*Belarus*'

+ will locate every QSO whose QTH item contains Belarus.

+ The SQL expression

(QTH like '*Belarus*') or (ADDRESS like '*Belarus*')

+ will locate every QSO whose QTH or ADDRESS item contains Belarus.

+ The SQL expression

(QTH like '*<filtertextbox>*') or (ADDRESS like '*<filtertextbox>*')
