Thanks Dave & Norman for answering.
I was entering QSO's vis the Log QSOs tab, but tried with the Capture window and after entering the log file display at the bottom showed the whole log. So I will use Capture from now on.
On the Log QSO's tab I now have only the Award Details & User Defined little boxes ticked, but I had a few others. When I culled them, the Filter box finally appeared at the bottom of the screen. There is no way of scrolling down to it if you have too many of those little boxes ticked.

+ Oh I see, the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab was not entirely visible on your monitor until you reduced the number of panels displayed. What is the resolution of your monitor?

Re: Commander VFO B Field is Black

Brian Deuby

I believe that all my configuration settings conform with the "Getting Started with Elecraft Transceiver Control" instructions - but the VBO B field is empty and black. Because I also use Win4K3Suite software to control the K3 I have the Secondary CAT Serial Port field populated: Enable; Follow primary CAT Protocol Elecraft; Update every 200ms; Port 14; Baud 38400 Word 8; Parity None; Stop 2 DTR On; RTS On.

The Baud, Word Parity, Stop, DTR and RTS settings are identical to the Primary CAT Serial Port settings. The primary port setting is #4 and the secondary port setting is #14. Commander changes the frequency on The Win4K display and on the K3. It also controls the mode on Win4K# and on the K3. Changes in frequency and mode made in Win4K3 will change those settings on the K3 but not in Commander.

I do see an error message at the top of Commander (v 14.5.8) "selected Com port failed to open" - which I suspect may be part of the problem. I'm not strong on the subject of ports and selecting the appropriate ones - mostly trial and error.

Thanks,

Welcome about John, it is a fun ride.

Near the bottom of DXKeeper, there is a box where the call sign shows up. You can enter a call sign there as a filter.  But try clicking on the 'X' next to the box. That should remove any filters.

Also tick the button next to UTC (on the left) to sort by time, most recent at the bottom.

Dave will pop in with more details when he sees this.

+ As you have DXKeeper configured, the Log Page Display is being filtered to show only QSOs with the callsign with whom you just logged the QSO.

There is mention in the Help section of a filter box being at the bottom of the screen, in which I should see "NONE" but it is not there.

+ Are you logging new QSOs via the Capture window, or via the Main window's "Log QSOs" tab?

+ To remove all filtering from the Log Page Display so that you can see all of your QSOs, click the Filter panel's X button.

+ I suggest that you start here:

Within DXBase, I could configure Radio 1 and Radio 2 and switch between the two with a mouse click on a button. Within DXLab, I can see how to set up MultiRadio, but I don't see how to switch from one radio to the other: all I can see displayed is the Primary radio. How do I switch between the primary and secondary radios?

* Sorry, I read your question two quickly. Commander supports up to 4 Primary radios that you can switch among by clicking the buttons circled in red in the screen shot in

<https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/ControlMultipleRadios>

* In addition, Commander supports a Secondary CAT Port that can be connected to a transceiver, receiver, SDR console, amplifier, antenna tuner, or antenna switch. You can configure the device connected to the Secondary CAT port to follow the Primary transceiver's frequency and mode, lead the Primary transceiver's frequency and mode, or both Lead and Follow the Primary transceiver's frequency and mode. This is explained more fully in

+ Making the transition from another logging application that you've been using for a long time is challenging. The temptation is to quickly get everything working the way it did in your previous application, but that can be overwhelming and frustrating. My advice is to take things one function at time and get comfortable with that function before you move on to the next function; perhaps that's what you're doing with transceiver control.

Thanks for the explanation....

Me saying "send this QSL...." was the wrong expression, but I could not remember what the equivalent was for an LoTW download!

But, I am still puzzled as to why the confirmation for 5Z4/G3AB on 20m did not show as a new confirmation for Kenya. As I said before, I do have 5Z4 confirmed on CW on 20m, but not for digital.
I question this because I am sure I have had confirmations where I have previous confirmations for a particular country on a specific band where a new digital slot has shown up as being "new".

+ So I can see what's going on, please place the following two files in a zip archive:

1. your log file

2. the file LOTW_QSL_ADI_Results.txt from DXKeeper's Databases folder

I was tweaking some settings in Commander this afternoon and noticed the VF0 B box does not display my K3’s VFO B frequency (the field is black). I’ve looked through the entire Commander configuration manual and can’t find anything on this subject. I’m guessing that I inadvertently changed a setting - but I can’t find what setting that might have been. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I was waiting for it to show up in LoTW, as it was one I needed, and the contact was recent too. The only other one I am currently waiting for is H44MS< and as Bernhard is stuck in H44 for the time being, I will have to wait for travel restrictions to be lifted before I can send a direct card. It is country #299 for me.
Now, if only I could make a QSO with 4U1UN, then I would achieve the magic 300 on digital!

In the Bands & Modes box, I have 80 - 10m checked, and Digital is also checked.

That is all. 160, 2 & 6m are unchecked, as are Phone & CW, plus PSK and QRP.

* Thanks, Phil. The "send this QSL card to the DXCC desk" message only appears when you mark a logged QSO as confirmed via QSL card by setting its "QSL Rcvd" item to 'Y'.

* The Result column in the "after action report" displayed by the "Sync LoTW QSLs" function does identify confirmations that if submitted would advance your progress towards that awards you are pursuing, e.g.

new confirmation for Tanzania: DIGI

* Also note that DXCC awards are mixed (entity), entity-band, and entity-mode. There are no entity-band-mode DXCC awards.

Over the weekend, I managed to work Andy 5Z4/G3AB on 20m FT8, which was a new slot for me (I have 5Z4 confirmed on many bands, but not 20m DATA), and today, a match showed up in my Sync LoTW QSl download.

However, I did not get the usual and expected "send this QSL to the DXCC desk".

But, I do have 5Z4 confirmed on 20m CW, so I am guessing that because 5Z4 was previously confirmed (but never submitted for DXCC) that is the reason why I did not get the expected pop-up.

Currently, copies are made here by using screen shots of the filtered Spot Database display; those saved screen shots are not searchable and must be visually scanned to find needed data.
Did you try the "Report" button (found under the "Spot source status"

matching the current filter.
