Carter, I went through this process just a few days ago.

I had the same reaction as you when I initially read the wiki on transferring to t a new computer - I felt overwhelmed. And like you, I really only use a few of the modules. I took a deep breath and read the wiki a second time, taking notes on actions I actually needed to take, and realized it was fairly simple. I had never modified any of the files, I had never created any scripts, etc. So, for me, it was as simple as saving the workspace on the old computer and copying the saved workspace and a few other files (current and backup .mdb files) to a portable drive, and then installing everything on the new computer, copying the files and restoring the workspace. It all took maybe 1/2 hour and everything works perfectly on the new computer.

I don't use Commander, so I'm no help there. But you will probably have to change a few settings because ports will most likely change on the new computer.

Gook luck,

 Brian NT6F

Here is my question:
Can I just do a completely new install of the suite on the new computer and then just import ("restore"?) the backup log from the old computer. For LOTW the wiki says just to install the LOTW software and import the TQSL info.

BTW, both computers are Win 10 64 bit.

So, will my plan work?

Phil,

That is a bad idea...
Cloning is used for replacing a drive on an existing machine.
You should always start fresh on a new machine. The configurations are not the same.

Carter, what you will need to do is install just like you did on the current machine
and then transfer your database to it.

Try to clone the old to new computer. There is software for this,i.e. Data  Migration is one.

HNY ALL. I have Spot Collector Origin set to NA-W only. I am seeing needed spots originating from many locations around the world. Does "needed" entities override my NA-W only setting?  In the past I was told that "out of requested origins" result because the station was first spotted by a NA-W station.  That really does not seem to be the case.

You could do that but it will be using all of the defaults and you will have to do the settings that you did the first time. It is not really that hard to follow the Wiki for just the modules you are gong to use and in the end it may save you a lot of trouble. I strongly recommend that you do it that way unless you are ready to completely start over as if you had never used it before. Just be sure you have copies of your log and better more than one on different media in different places.

When I fist started with DXLABS I did it the way you are asking and I guarantee that it was much easier when I started using the wiki.

Re: Label printer commendations?

I went to their website and read the 45 reviews.  23 rated 5, 8 rated 4, 3 3's, a 2 and 10 rated 1, mostly based on software.  The dates on the reviews are up to 10 years old so it's hard to know if they still apply, but some of the 1s are recent.

Pre-recorded icom 7300 messages

ghassan chammas

Hi Dave
I have recorded 10 messages on my icom 7300 to be used in contests and dxing. I access them directly from the radio.
Is there a way to program the commander to access them through it? Like a sequence or a button macro?

Thank you very much
Happy new year

After 20x <wait> it worked.... is there a <wait,20> command?

+ No: there has been no previously-identified need. The number of <wait> instructions required will vary as a function of the Command Interval you've specified.

Is there a way to ask the radio if its back in standby before moving forward?
My tuner is fast but there are times where it might take extra time.

+ Does the Icom 7610's CI-V instruction set include a way to "test" the tuner to determine if it's completed its last operation?

+ What is the worst case amount of time that Icom states the tuner might take to complete an operation?

Re: 4x6 QSL Cards are now too big?

Got it working.
It was a printer issue.
Once I set the printer to match the DXK settings everything  printed as normal

4x6 QSL Cards are now too big?

WA8Y Steven

DXK 15.3.1
My QSL Cards are 4x6 inches.
Today, DXKeeper is telling me my "Specified QSL card height is too large (maximum is 3.883333 inches).
Clicking on "QSL Config" /Cards tab/ Card Dimensions" are set to;
Width   6 inches,    Side borders  0.25"
Height 4 inches.    Top border.    O.25"
2nd row offset. 0.25"

Did something change?

Looked thru all messages and documentation I could find before posting this...

I'm new to ClubLog and am trying to upload my log from DXK. I'm pretty sure I configured it correctly. The log contains 16,000 QSOs, so it parses them into groups of 5000. Using the Check Progress => Club Log K1TO button labeled Upload. But uploading the first one consistently returns this as soon as it reaches 5000: "Upload File to Club Log: error code: 1010". CTRL/click returns the same error code.

TIA for any help.

+ So that I can see what's going on, please do the following:

1. on the General tab of DXKeeper's Configuration window, check the "Log debugging info" box

2. terminate DXKeeper

3. start DXKeeper

4. direct DXKeeper to upload your QSOs to Club Log

5. when the error message appears,

5a. on the General tab of DXKeeper's Configuration window, uncheck the "Log debugging info" box

5b. attach the errorlog.txt file from your DXKeeper folder to an email message, and send the message to me via

Thanks!

Trying to setup my 7610 to tune using a Sequences. Every command seems to work on its own but when running them together it fails to turn the power back up. I tried installing a "wait" with no help.

+ <wait> only inserts one "command interval" of wait time. Try inserting ten <wait> instructions. Any difference in behavior?

I'm thinking of switching to roll labels with a smaller roll label printer. Up to now I've used my laser printer to print cards and outgoing and return envelopes.

Any recommendations on a printer for this to be driven by DXKeeper?

+ I use a Dymo "LabelWriter 450 Turbo". Prints well, and has been reliable.
