Re: Can't open DXview

Sometimes I have a similar problem and go into Task Manager, Background Processes and close the app there, after which it can be restarted immediately. However, on a few occasions, I get the same symptoms as you and don't find the app in Task Manager, whereupon I have to restart the PC.

+ Those are symptoms of Windows malfunction.

Is this a generic Windows malfunction or peculiar to my installation, do you think?

Reports go to Notebook.  I'd like to direct them to Notebook++ but don't see a configuration or help item that addresses a target address change.  Can this be done?

I get a "Script Error randomly when I'm running Launcher, dxk, dxv, pf and sc. I think it's associated with these but not 100 pct sure. Any suggestions? I just have to clik on the 'Yes" button two or three times and it goes away with no problems.

+ Pathfinder incorporates the Internet Explorer web browser. When attempting to render web pages, Internet Explorer reports errors when directed to execute what it considers to be erroneous scripts embedded in those web pages. Please see this article for actions you can take to reduce the incidence of these script error reports:

Somehow I got my IP blocked on eQSL to access their webpage. I can still upload and download to eQSL from DXLab. I have sent three emails to support and it has been 3 weeks since they blocked my IP address. Anyone know how to get their attention? This is probably not the best place to post this but I can't find anywhere else to even ask the question. I only started using eQSL because I was asked by some ops I worked if I would post there.

+ eQSL is led by Dave N5UP, whose email address is available via QRZ.com . In my experience, Dave is very responsive.

Is there an errorlog.txt file in your PropView folder, please attach it to an email message and send the message to me via

aa6yq (at) ambersoft.com

If there is no errorlog.txt in your PropView folder, please do the following:

1. start PropView,

2. on PropView's Configuration window, check the "Log debugging info" box

3. terminate PropView

4. start PropView

5. initiate a propagation forecast in your usual manner

6. wait 60 seconds

7. on PropView's Configuration window, uncheck the "Log debugging info" box

8. terminate PropView

Seasoned user having basic trouble.      Had trouble last night shutting
down

+ What does "trouble last night shutting down" mean?

and today I can't open DXview     All other Apps open fine.

DXlauncher shows RED for DXview.

I click it, to open DXview.   RED changes to BLUE.    I get a message:
"DXview is already running on this PC".     I click OK

The BLUE turns back to RED, and I can't open DXview again.

What are the action steps to repair ?    Un-install / Re-install ?   Or a
simpler solution ?

+ As a first step, reboot Windows, start the Launcher, and direct the
Launcher to start DXView.

Thanks Bri,

While the message on screen said that DXview is running....it's NOT shown in the Task Manager.

I'll close all apps. and do a PC re-start.

Gary,

I have seen that on my computer. Usually the app started in a minimized state. Is the app running on the task bae?

If so, simply click the DX zview icon on the task bar to restore.

If not, terminate all apps and restart the computer. Then restar  DXLans and the needed apps.

Is there a way, either within or without the DXLab Suite, to graphically display those entities that I have, or alternatively, have not, made confirmed contacts with? Goal is to display entities, in Central and South America, that I still have not made confirmed QSOs with.

I just today received my DXCC Phone certificate! Ok applause and drum roll can now cease.
I recognize that being in New Mexico it is not surprising many of my confirmed entities are in Central and South America.

My question is:

I do use DX Atlas, and Google Earth.

Thanks!

I have SpotCollector set to give an audio alarm every time a marathon country shows up. I am using the Audio Alarm trigger, SQL expression :   (MarCntryProg="U"). It works fine but, if I hit the test button it does not trigger the audio alarm?

+ Clicking the "Audio Alarm trigger" panel's Test button filters the Spot Database Display with the SQL expression you specified in the panel; it does not generate audio. See the description of the Test button in
