Hi Dave

I am learning the hard way that DX Labs isn't capable of working with SmartSDR running on a Laptop that is connecting to my Flex
6600 remotely.

I did see the article on your WIKI page by KB1VFU that gives information on how to connect DX Labs commander to a Flex remotely.

Haven't got that to work yet, but I am still working on it.

I was just wondering if anything has changed on this subject (remote connection of Commander with FLEX) since that was written. I
have seen some new releases of the SmartSDR and just asking if there is something new in those releases that helps.

Thanks for all you do on DX Labs. Definitely a great tool, or set of tools.

Although the Flex 6xxx will not work via Smartlink, you can configure a COMport in SSDR/CAT/Smartlink and then select Kenwood TS200 or TS480 for the radio and the remote flex will understand

Ok, curiosity and laziness have gotten to me as I wait for the Ohio weather to break for the better so here goes...
Is there a way, presumable with an SQL script, to count how many QSOs in each mode have occurred over a given time frame? I should add that the preference would be 'easy' but I wouldn't mind having a semi-useful reason to learn a little more about SQL scripts..
My 'easy' solution would be to export the log for the desired time frame to a CSV file, import to EXCEL, sort by mode and then, using functions or macros, count the Q's per mode.
Again, no really useful or driven reason to do this. Maybe the incessant rain is making my brain soggy and doing something like this might help dry it out.

+ The title bar of DXKeeper's Main window shows the number of QSO present in the Log Page Display, so if you filter the Log Page Display with the expression

QSO_BEGIN between #2018-01-01# and #2019-01-01#

+ the title bar will show how many QSOs you made last year.

+ If you want to do this for, say, several years, you could define a script like this

Filter QSO_BEGIN between #2014-01-01# and #2015-01-01#
Filter QSO_BEGIN between #2015-01-01# and #2016-01-01#
Filter QSO_BEGIN between #2016-01-01# and #2017-01-01#
Filter QSO_BEGIN between #2017-01-01# and #2018-01-01#
Filter QSO_BEGIN between #2018-01-01# and #2019-01-01#

+ I saved this the a file named annual.txt in DXKeeper's Scripts folder. Directing DXKeeper to execute this script produced a file in DXKeeper's Scripts folder named

annual_log_2019_Mar_28.log

+ whose contents are

Filter QSO_BEGIN between #2014-01-01# and #2015-01-01#
   Selected 1680 QSOs

Filter QSO_BEGIN between #2015-01-01# and #2016-01-01#
   Selected 769 QSOs

Filter QSO_BEGIN between #2016-01-01# and #2017-01-01#
   Selected 635 QSOs

Filter QSO_BEGIN between #2017-01-01# and #2018-01-01#
   Selected 708 QSOs

Filter QSO_BEGIN between #2018-01-01# and #2019-01-01#
   Selected 419 QSOs

+ The Filter script command can execute any SQL expression, so you can perform many different analyses without having to export your QSOs to a tab-delimited file and import them into a spreadsheet application.

 <https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxkeeper/Help/Scripts.htm>

+ Also note the analysis functions available via buttons on the bottom of DXKeeper's Main window's "Check Progress" tab: Card Aging, QSL Stats, Uniques, and First QSOs.

Duplicates in DXK

I use to do my logging of FT8 QSOs via: WSJT-X--> JTAltertX --> DXKeeper.
As I forgot to start JTAlertX today, nothing had been logged.
So I had the idea to import the wsjt_log.adi (abt 1400 entries).
Unfortunately I produced that way around 1200 dupes. I tried to remove those duplicates in the way under "http://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/RemovingDuplicates" described, but DXK does not show any duplicate QSOs.
So I compared 2 dupe QSOs an found out that Call, Date and Time are identical, but not the entries under "power" and "tx frequ". May this be the reason why DXK doesn´t recognize the duplicates as a dupe?

What can I do to get rid of those duplicates?

+ I've known Gerald (FlexRadio President) since the SDR-1000 days, when I purchased one of their radios in order to provide DXLab support. He's aware of the recent difficulties involving the lack of SmartLink documentation and the defects in SmartSDR callsign rendering -- which I think I've worked around but can't know for sure because Flex still hasn't investigated. A conversation at Visalia won't help; only documentation and defect repairs will help.

If your second hobby is helping Microsoft evaluate new versions of Windows 10, use a dedicated system for that, as its incompatible with maintaining a stable environment that supports your amateur radio activities.

Dave. Sorry. Should have been more specific

No there is no G there. I have tried to run a submission and followed all directions and can’t change any info on the QSO. And can’t directly input any either

Went to lite to try and submit Gucci awards info and can only find vhf/uhf nothing for hf

In the lite cfm all items are blank or greeted out

In the address bar where it says dxkeeper it shows number of QSOs that number is double what I actually have but in log sections at the bottom of keeper there are no dupes

I seem to be of of my element, but here it goes. I'm a new user ot DXLab

+ Welcome, Doug!

and wanted it so I could log contacts and have a waterfall display. I have a Kenwood TS-590 hooked to a W10 laptop.

+ The Kenwood TS-590 does not have the ability to report spectrum data via its CAT interface, so Commander cannot display its spectrum data.

The Commander seems to work fine but when I go to turn on the Waterfall under Commander>config>Bandspread there is supposed to be a box for waterfall in the upper left of the Bandspread window, according to a YOUTube video I saw. I don't have an option to turn on the Waterfall, that I can find.

+ Either the YouTube video is inaccurate, or you misinterpreted it. Please post its URL so I can check it out.

+ At present, only the Icom IC-7300, IC-7610, IC-7850, and IC-7851 report spectrum data via their CAT interfaces. Commander uses this spectrum data to display a spectrum-waterfall window like this:

<http://www.dxlabsuite.com/commander/Spectrum-Waterfall-Dark-Spectrum.jpg>

+ If you want a spectrum display from your TS-590, you'll need to add hardware that generates spectrum data from the TS-590's IF, and then display that spectrum data on an application like HDSDR, which interoperates with DXLab. Take a look at the block diagram shown in

<https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/SDRTopics>

+ There are inexpensive "dongles" that can generate spectrum data, and there are low-end SDRs like the SDRPlay RSP series. I recently acquired a new RSP2Pro from HRO for $200, and have so far been surprised by its quality as a receiver. However, I have it connected to an antenna (not a receiver's IF output), and have not yet tested it with weak DX signals. Note that when connecting an SDR to an antenna, a circuit that disconnects the antenna from the SDR when you are transmitting is essential!

As I forgot to start JTAlertX today, nothing had been logged.
So I had the idea to import the wsjt_log.adi (abt 1400 entries).

+ Did you backup your log in DXKeeper before importing the WSJT_log.adi file?

Unfortunately I produced that way around 1200 dupes. I tried to remove those duplicates in the way under "http://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/RemovingDuplicates" described, but DXK does not show any duplicate QSOs.
So I compared 2 dupe QSOs an found out that Call, Date and Time are identical, but not the entries under "power" and "tx frequ". May this be the reason why DXK doesn´t recognize the duplicates as a dupe?

+ As stated in the first sentence of

https://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/RemovingDuplicates

+ a duplicate of a logged QSO is "any other QSO in your log that exactly matches its Callsign, Band, Mode, and QSO Begin Date and Time (to the second)"

+ Using Notepad, I extracted the last ADIF record from wsjtx_log.adi and placed it in a separate ADIF file.

+ First I directed DXKeeper to import this 1-QSO ADIF file, with duplicate checking enabled; the QSO was rejected as a duplicate. Then I disabled "duplicate checking during import" and imported the 1-QSO ADIF file. Initiating DXKeeper's Duplicate filter with its range set to 0 (meaning "to-the-second" match on QSO Begin time) identified the imported QSO as a duplicate.

What can I do to get rid of those duplicates?

+ So I can determine why the Duplicate filter didn't find the duplicate QSOs you imported, please place your DXKeeper log file (probably DL5UZ.mdb) and your wsjtx_log.adi files in a zip archive, attach the zip archive to an email message, and send the email message to me via
