Re: Workspaces Problem

Jerry,

I believe your assessment is correct. 11-30-2015 is or should be a folder name. If you click that folder name it should contain files named, "Commander, DXKeeper, DXLabLauncher, DXView, Pathfinder, PropView, SpotCollector, and WinWarbler" (assuming you have installed them all). The file names have no extension so you probably can't view them easily. Is that the case? If not something apparently happened to the files and I would delete 11-30-2015 and create the Workspace again. Note that the name shown at the bottom of Launcher represents the name of the last Workspace loaded into the registry and is not an indication that the Workspace files still exist.

I want to make sure I am backing up DXLabs properly, and entirely.

I have multiple work spaces.

Daily I backup C:\DXLabs to an external drive

My Log is backed up to Dropbox.

I create an image of C: every couple months

Is there anything else needed to insure up to date, 100% backup?

Hi Tom,

I have used the combination of DXKeeper, Commander, DXView, SpotCollector, Pathfinder, Fldigi-DXLabs Gateway, and Fldigi for several years. I have been extremely happy with this setup. Calls and QSO info are entered into Fldigi and transfer as they should into the other programs, including DXKeeper, automatically.

Dave, Rick, and Dave have all been very helpful whenever I have an issue or question.

Good luck & 73,

Thanks that gives me what I needed.

It also required "unconfirmed" to be selected on Word Map which I missed at the first attempt.

Re: Fldigi-DXLabs Gateway

I has worked nice for me. Had a little glitch when FLDIGI upgraded and it hickuped but once I installed the update it works fine now. Have used it for PSK, RTTY and a few others. Listened to some others too. When you click on a station to work in receive window it opens the capture and pathfinder and looks everything up. I have had a few small items not transfer to log if I did not put the in fldigi log at top of screen but even then you just need to open pathfinder if you have not worked another station and get the info.

N2AMG is very helpful too if you have a problem.

Good Luck es 73

Thanks VK2IG! I have had that exact problem - but you stated it better and came up with the solution. I will try that is a few days when I can get back into the Shack.
I have 3 calls to use and tried to got to 2 computers to solve it, awkward but it worked until I knocked one computer to the concrete, evacuating for a wildfire.

Good Afternoon Group:

I'm looking into FLdigi as a way to further explore some of the many digital modes available today. I would like to continue to seamlessly log to DXKeeper. I understand that N2AMG's Fldigi-DXLabs Gateway is the defacto answer.

Like everything else in life, they're pluses and minus's in anything. I'm trying to gather consensus on this bridge software. For the most part, has it proven to be a reliable solution to the logging question ?.

I look forward to any helpful comments.

Dave,

Many thanks.

I haven't (knowingly) deleted anything around 'DXLab', so I'm at a loss as to the cause, but at least I'm up & running again,
terrific

Windows did not consider MouseWheelControl.ocx to be "installed". Windows stores this information in the Windows Registry. If the
loss of installation status for MouseWheelControl.ocx was not the result of uninstalling some other application, that implies some
sort of "incident" in Windows.

To protect yourself against future losses like this that might not be so easy to repair, direct Windows to create a "Restore
Point". After any installation or removal of applications or Windows Updates, verify that each of your DXLab applications still
start and run; then direct Windows to create a "Restore Point". Then if Windows ever complains about a component being missing, you
can then direct Windows to "recover" from the most recent "Restore Point", which if you've been diligent will bring your system back
to a known good configuration.

Dave, AA6YQ

Re: DXView world map "unconfirmed"

Dave AA6YQ

Filtering DXKeeper's Log Page Display with the SQL expression

EXISTS (SELECT Progress.CountryStatus FROM Progress WHERE (Progress.CountryCode = DXCCID) and (Progress.CountryStatus ='W'))

will limit the Log Page Display to QSOs with DXCC entities that are worked but not confirmed. Clicking the Plot button just above the "Log Page Display" will plot those QSOs on DXView's world map. Note that this can result in more than one plotted red dot per unworked DXCC entity (if you've worked multiple stations in that entity and their logged geographic locations are different).

Dave, AA6YQ

How do I display on the world map only those entities that I have worked on any band or mode but which have not been confirmed or verified on any band or mode?

I thought the appropriate selection would be "unconfirmed" but, as explained in help, unconfirmed is not defined that way.

* Unconfirmed - displays a red circle in each DXCC entity that has been worked, but has not been confirmed on each active band <http://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxview/Help/Configuration.htm#Band%20Filter%20Panel> and active mode <http://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxview/Help/Configuration.htm#Mode%20Filter%20Panel>

Do I need to filter my log or is there a simple selection for the group I would like to display (worked but not confirmed DX)?

DXK won't start today, I'm getting a window telling me that 'MouseWheelControl.ocx' or one . . . etc, is incorrectly registered or
invalid.

That means some action you've taken (e.g. un-installing an application) or a defect in Windows has altered the Windows Registry.
Assuming the file MouseWheelControl.ocx is still present in your DXKeeper folder C:\DXLab\DXKeeper, you can re-register it by
directing Windows to open a CMD window and entering these two commands, each terminated with the Enter key

CD C:\DXLab\DXKeeper

You can always go to

download a copy of the latest release build and copy it to a USB flash drive or burn it to a DVD and install it. It's not a bad idea to have such a copy in case you ever need to reinstall Windows. However, I suspect it won't be long before the fix comes out.
