Please keep us informed as to the install of CWGet, I too was wanting to get rid of my PK232 (for the real estate) and use CWGet but didn't want to install and older runtime environment on my Win7 machine.

If I understand Dave correctly, the runtime isn't needed if you have DXLabs installed?

I doubt that N1MM and N1MM-to-DKeeper bridge satisfy these requirements, so if you're using N1MM to log QSOs during the contest, you should also use it to generate the Cabrillo file after the contest. The point of updating DXKeeper with your contest QSOs -- either by using the N1MM-to-DXKeeper bridge during the contest, or by exporting an ADIF file from N1MM after the contest and importing it into your DXKeeper log -- is to keep DXLab's record of what you've worked accurate and complete. This enables SpotCollector to correctly identify active DX stations with whom a QSO would advance progress towards the awards you are pursuing, and enables DXKeeper to correctly generate outgoing QSL cards/labels requesting confirmation of QSOs that would advance progress towards the awards you are pursuing.

I strongly suspect that having any DXLab application installed fulfills this prerequisite. I don’t recall anyone ever reporting a problem here, nor has my testing revealed any problems.
Is this no longer actively maintained?

Its author - Dick W3OA - is very responsive to requests for assistance. No further functional enhancement is needed, in my opinion.
Is it safe to use?

As I said, I don’t recall anyone ever reporting a problem here.

Converting that error code to hexadecimal yields 80090305.

Googling this error code mostly yields articles about it occurring during a Windows Update; it appears to mean "internet connection interrupted". My first suggestion is to reboot Windows, and try again.

What version of Internet Explorer do you have installed?

Can't get Launcher to work today

This morning when I double-clicked on the Launcher icon on my desktop, the Launcher app box opened but nothing else launched. The small "config" box on Launcher was partially obscured with a printed message "Unable to launch, etc.... the file does not exist". Trying to launch any other DXLab application from the desktop icons also failed to bring up anything.


I have been using the downloaded Win 10 OS since mid-2015 with no problems. I've tried the hard reboot twice today on this PC with no effect on this Launcher issue. All other programs on my PC seem to work fine.


Is anyone else experiencing similar behavior?

40 has little RTTY activity except during contests. Try 20 meters
between 14080-14090 mostly in the daylight hours.

Use SpotCollector to determine when and where RTTY stations are being spotted by stations near your QTH:
1. filter the Spot Database Display with the SQL expression

(Mode='RTTY') and (ODX < 500)

2. click the Prop button beneath the Main window's "Spot Source Status" panel (at the top of the Window)

3. In SpotCollector's Propagation window, click the "DX in Spot Database Display" panel's Analyze button

Double-clicking a bar in the generated chart will filter the Spot Database Display to show the DX stations and their operating frequencies.
I don't know where you were looking on 40m, but the 7 RTTY stations spotted by stations within 500 miles of my QTH (near Boston) over the last day or two were operating between 7035 and 7045.

3. When I shut down DXLab via Laucher's 'terminate' button, WW does not shut down.

What version of Windows are you running?
When you start WinWarbler from the Launcher, does the "LED-like display" beneath the Launcher's WW button change from Red to Light Blue when you the WW button, and the change from Light Blue to Green when WinWarbler's Main window appears on screen ?

WinWarbler does not include an integral CW decoder, as it does for RTTY and PSK31. However, there are several ways for WinWarbler to display decoded CW:

Wild Card Filter for Spot Collector

I’m tired of the bogus spots for P5 and would like to filter them out but I can’t find a wild card filter character.  Is there a way to filter P5 anything?  If there is a real P5 operation I’m sure everyone will know and that would be a time to remove this filter.  Until then it’s not a case of hope springs eternal but rather a case of don’t bother me with junk.
