What about that “Reset Unique #s” button on the Log tab of the Config window?

Dave and/or Group.

Just noticing I have QSO unique numbers under the AUXILIARY section of DX Keeper.

Is there a way to force a renumbering of those numbers to reflect the QSO’s in the database?

I have currently 7700+ QSO’s yet my uniques are showing 16143+

Obviously when originally importing, cleaning out dupes and doing general maintenance until I got DXK and I happily working in harmony there were additional QSO’s assigned a unique QSO number that no longer exist.

I would like to completely rework the database so the unique QSO numbers match my actual QSO count. Can this be done?

>>>The purpose of the Unique item is to assign each of a log's QSOs a unique and immutable number. A QSO's Unique item is assigned when it is created or imported, and cannot be changed.

On: DXKeeper | DXKeeper Configuration| Log tab; there is a “Reset Unique #s” function action.

Hovering over the box says:  “Assigns a unique number to each QSO in the log”

Regarding your comment: “I verified, via a scope, that neither control line was changing when used as a keying line.”

RTS and DTR lines are pull down current sinks, that is they expect an active high line they will pull to ground.  If you don’t have the distant end (the radio) supply a current limited voltage, your scope simply be seeing a “loose” wire (at the computer) bring pulled to ground—that is no change.  You need both sides connected in order to see a change.

Think of it as a light bulb connected on one side to the mains and the loose side wire just dangling.  On the other side you have a switch that one side goes to ground and the other side is dangling.  If you measure either dangling (i.e., unconnected) side, you will not see any change no matter how many times you operate the switch.  Although, one side will always be high and the other side always be low.

***** Dave, I think you may be confusing RS232 with current loop interfaces used to connect model 33 (and others) teletype machines to RS232 modems.  I have 40+ years experience in the telecommunications industry with Ma Bell, and scopes are the best method of troubleshooting RS232 issues that we ever used.  Primarily due to analog voltmeters not being able to read both negative and positive voltages without switching the leads.  Even though we utilized a voltmeter in a pinch.  A scope was always instrumental in helping to identify a piece of equipment as to being DTE or DCE by monitoring the handshake lines.

It's a little bit better now...

With the "Need" key, only SSB and CW DX appear in the Window.
I also set a 30 min. Age filter to look only the last 30 min. DX stations.

Then, I try 2 special SQL filters:

1. <needfilter> or len(tags)>0

This filter display all DX in the database (with FM, RTTY, JT65, PSK63, etc.) but I'd like to have only SSB and CW in the result.
Another problem: the "Age" key have no effect :( I see all DX sation in the database.

Then I start "Log debugging information" option to look what's happened with the "Need" key.
I copied the SQL code for the "Need filter" and add at the end, the len(tags)>0 option :

2. (Needed like '*L*' or ((BandSought='Y')and(BandProgress='U'))or((BandSought='Y')and(BandProgress='W')and(BandWorked<>'Y'))or((ModeSought='Y')and(ModeProgress='U'))or((ModeSought='Y')and(ModeProgress='W')and(ModeWorked<>'Y'))or(CountryProgress='U')or((CountryProgress='W')and(CountryWorked<>'Y')) or (IotaProg='U')or((IotaProg='W')and(IotaWB4<>'Y'))) AND ((BAND='?')OR(BAND='80M')OR(BAND='40M')OR(BAND='30M')OR(BAND='20M')OR(BAND='17M')OR(BAND='15M')OR(BAND='12M')OR(BAND='10M')OR(BAND='60M')) AND ((MODE = 'SSB') OR (MODE = 'CW')) AND TRUE AND TRUE AND (Hidden = 'N') or len(tags)>0

With the filter number 2, it's OK I look only SSB and CW and also Tagged Special Callsign.
But same problem with the "Age" key: no effect :(

In another debug, I look that the "Need" key and then the "Age" key add this: AND (LASTTIME > (DATEADD("n",-30,'2015-12-29 09:21:50'))) for the Age filter.

But with my 2 personnal filters, this AND (LASTTIME > (DATEADD("n",-30,'2015-12-29 09:21:50'))) is not added.

What do you think about this ?
I suggest:

(Tags<>'' or <NEEDFILTER>) and <AGEFILTER> and <BANDFILTER> and
<MODEFILTER> and <CONTFILTER> and <ORIGINFILTER> and Hidden<>'Y'

Side-note to Dave.... it'd be handy, for cases like this, if we had a
macro symbol like <STANDARDFILTERS> that expanded to "<AGEFILTER> and
<BANDFILTER> and <MODEFILTER> and <CONTFILTER> and <ORIGINFILTER>".
Ideally it'd also incorporate the "LotW" and "eQSL" (participation)
filters, and there should be individual macros for those too(which
apply when the boxes are checked).

I assumed as much but thought I would ask anyways! No biggie.

My previous response was incorrect: clicking the "Reset Unique #s" button at the bottom of the Configuration window's Log tab will assigned each QSO a unique number based on its QSO Begin date and time: the earliest QSO is assigned QSO number 1, the second is assigned QSO number 2, etc.

Suggestion for WinWarbler CW

Ray Walters

Hi Guys,
I have a suggestion to improve WinWarbler.
I would like to be able to copy text in the TX Message window, so that I can paste it back in after it has initially been sent. So I can repeat specific responses to stations I am in contact with without having to retype it.
This would really help a lot.
Thank You,

If I understand your request correctly, you can copy transmitted text from a receive pane to the Windows clipboard by selecting it that text (left-drag with the mouse) and then striking CTRL-C. You can then paste it into the transmit pane.
Alternatively, if you are repeatedly sending the same information, you could setup macros to do this.

I have noticed that the KAMPlus will work with WW to do RTTY and CW as an external modem.  My problem is I bought mine back in the mid 90's and do not have any software for it nor do I have the owners manual.  Anyone have a clue where to find the manual etc, and is anyone using it with WW for RTTY and CW?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

WinWarbler needs no other software to work with your Kam Plus.

Anyone have a clue where to find the manual etc,

The reference manual is available here:
