Notes

1. For DXKeeper to be alerted when an override is modified via DXView, you must be running DXView 3.8.8 or later.

2. For DXKeeper to be alerted when an override is modified via SpotCollector, you must be running SpotCollector 6.7.5 or later.

3. The extension of CQ DX Marathon support to include the direct generation of a Score Sheet in Excel format required a change in
the way DXKeeper's Marathon Progress Report and Submission generators are invoked.

In previous versions of DXKeeper, clicking the Progress button in the CQ DX Marathon panel on the Main windows Check Progress
tab directed DXKeeper to generate a progress report for the current year (as determined by the current date-and-time). Clicking the
Submission button in this panel directed DXKeeper to generate a submission for the previous year. Depressing the CTRL key while
clicking either the Progress or Submission button let you specify an arbitrary year for which a progress report or submission was to
be generated.

To directly generate a Score Sheet in Excel format, DXKeeper requires the template Score Sheet that CQ makes available, e.g.

<http://www.dxmarathon.com/Submission/2013/DX%20Marathon%20Scoresheet-2013.5.xls>

CQ has changed this template Score Sheet from year to year (and sometimes within the year). DXKeeper 11.5.2 provides a new
Marathon Year and Score Sheet Information window in which you specify

a. The current year for which Progress Reports and Submissions are to be generated (when not invoked with the CTRL key depressed)

b. The location of the template Score Sheet for the current year

c. Information such as your name, address, CQ zone, and antenna description that is needed to populate a Score Sheet

This new Marathon Year and Score Sheet Information window is displayed when you click the new Set Year and Score Sheet Info
button in the Marathon Bands & Modes panel on the Configuration windows Awards tab.

The current year specified in this new window appears in the CQ DX Marathon panel on the Main windows Check Progress tab,
reminding you of the year for which Marathon Progress Reports and Submissions will be generated (unless you depress the CTRL key
when you click the panel's Progress or Submission button).

Clicking the Submission button in the CQ DX Marathon panel on the Main windows Check Progress tab continues to generate a
comma-delimited file (CSV format), as it did in previous versions of DXKeeper. However, if you click the Submission button without
depressing the CTRL key, if the new Marathon Year and Score Sheet Information window specifies the location of a template Score
Sheet for the current year, and if Microsoft Excel is installed on your computer, then DXKeeper will automatically create a Score
Sheet, populate it with QSO information, populate it with your name, address, and station information (from the Marathon Year and
Score Sheet Information window), and direct Excel to display the resulting XLS file; this file can be directly submitted to CQ.

If you use DXKeeper 11.5.2 to directly generate a 2013 Marathon submission in this manner, I strongly suggest that you inspect it
carefully for accuracy and completeness before sending it to CQ. Please post any errors, omissions, or ambiguities that you
encounter - in functionality or documentation -- on the DXLab Yahoo group.

Regarding the Marathon submission. Am I interpreting this correctly that

Yes.
The Marathon score sheet resides on my desktop. My next question would
be some how I have to tell either DXKeeper or Excel where the score
sheet is. Not sure how I would do that. Are these instructions located
anywhere yet since this version of DXK just came out.

As Iain N6ML pointed out, the reference documentation accompanying DXKeeper 11.5.2 was updated to describe this new capability.
I have updated the "step-by-step" instructions for generating a Marathon Submission to cover both the "with Microsoft Excel
installed " and "without Microsoft Excel installed" scenarios:

<http://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/GenerateMarathonSubmission>

As always, suggested corrections and improvements are welcome...

The “Perform a Recompute operation to update each logged QSO to reflect whether or not its Primary and Secondary Administrative

Thank you Rich, but the earlier post which I'm sure you read completely will indicate that a reboot, and a disk cleanup, and even a system restore did not correct the problem.

In fact I disabled the firewall/antivirus/system protection software and that didn't seem to help either.  I contacted my ISP and they asserted that they do nothing to block anything, however not long after that my DXLab applications began to work correctly.

While I still don’t understand what the purpose of this enhancement is (maybe too much coffee today), using DXKeeper 11.5.2 I logged a dummy QSO with a station I never worked before. I then changed the email address which was found on QRZ.com. Next I entered (and saved) another dummy QSO with the same station. DXKeeper did not carry over the email address which I had previously changed. Instead it entered the email address found on QRZ.com; that is what I was hoping it would continue to do.

What happens upon entering a new QSO with a prior saved callsign, is this potentially updated information from an external source
ignored?

The excerpt from the 11.5.2 release note below means that if you have already logged a QSO with AA6YQ whose email item contains
"aa6yq (at) ambersoft.com" and whose web page item contains "ambersoft.com",

1. if you use DXKeeper log a new QSO with AA6YQ, the new QSO's email and web page items will be automatically populated with "aa6yq
(at) ambersoft.com" and "ambersoft.com" respectively

2. if you use an application like WinWarbler or MultiPSK to log a new QSO with AA6YQ, DXKeeper will include "aa6yq (at)
ambersoft.com" and "ambersoft.com" with the information it provides to that application so that application can log the email
address and web page with the QSO.

Subject: RE: [dxlab] Strange new message ??

When DXKeeper performs a lookup for a new QSO, does it populate the QSO with data received via QRZ’s XML data service?
It does not.

Then likely the error message is DXKeeper reporting that it can’t access the server that host’s QRZ’s XML data service.
However if I go to QRZ.com via the internet and log in with the same user name and password then put in search on a new Call, QRZ populates with the call information. I don't have a righteous clue as to whether this is the same action as performed by DXK

They are completely different. QRZ.com returns HTML pages using the HTTP protocol; the XML data service responds to TCP/IP requests with information encoded in XML. The two services are likely hosted on separate (virtual) machines.
I also tried to put some QSOs on Eqsl and LOTW from DXK QSL and I get Upload aborted unable to connect to Https://lotw .arrl........... and similar for eqsl, leading me to think that something was broken with my internet connection
Checked locally to see if I could find something amiss with my internet connection but that is working without problems I can get to Arrl and Eqsl and Qrz . DXK is 11.5.2

It sounds like some things are working, but some things aren’t. Have you tried rebooting your PC?

This is not clear to me.

What happens upon entering a new QSO with a prior saved callsign, is this potentially updated information from an external source ignored?
