Cecil, the entire DXLab Suite is FREE.... if you really want to make a donation, Dave encourages individuals to make a donation to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Excellent support on all the programs in the suite, use as much or as little as you need with the understanding the programs of the suite are designed to interact and help you achieve YOUR goals. The support is excellent; help files link to the DXLab wiki if you want to read, or ask a question on the DXLab reflector.

You may notice I've CC'd the dxlab@yahoogroups.com email reflector; email the group with questions to get an idea of the support.

I currently have the same problem...I haven't submitted an update to my DXCC In years. I'm using DXBase and have come to hate it. Looking for something new.

I noticed DXlab has a whole suite of products...are they all part of DXKeeper or the other way around...with DXKeeper being a part of the DXLab suite. Is it all free? I don't mind paying for a nicely functional product with good support. Currently using the whole suite of DXAtlas station tools which I highly recommend but it doesn't cover logging. I noticed DXLab seems to have some of the same type stuff as DXAtlas.

Sorry for the questions...my attention span is a bit narrow today...came down with a nasty cold last night and just feel rotten. Haven't spent much time on the website.

used to move the data from a user-defined item to the new SOTA item in all logged QSOs en masse.

After many months of effort, ADIF 3.0.4 has been approved by the ADIF development group (ADIFdev). Much of the heavy lifting was
accomplished by Graham G3ZOD, who serves as ADIFdev secretary. I voted in favor of ADIF 3.0.4.

I must begin by introducing two bits of "standards" terminology:

A. enumeration: the set of valid items that can appear in a field

For example, the enumeration that governs ADIF's QSL_RCVD field is ('Y','N','R','I','V')

B. deprecated: should not be exported to an ADIF file, but must be correctly interpreted when encountered while importing an ADIF
file

In ADIF 3.0.4, for example, <QSL_RCVD:1>V has been deprecated in favor of

<CREDIT_GRANTED:41>DXCC:card, DXCC_BAND:card, DXCC_MODE:card

ADIF-compliant applications will continue to accept <QSL_RCVD:1>V when importing an ADIF file, but when exporting an ADIF file,
they
will convey "after submitting a QSL card as confirmation, this QSO was granted DXCC mixed, band, and mode credit" by exporting

<CREDIT_GRANTED:41>DXCC:card, DXCC_BAND:card, DXCC_MODE:card

While this changes what DXKeeper exports to an ADIF file, it will not change DXKeeper's user interface. You'll still be able to
set
a QSO's "QSL Rcvd" item to 'V' to indicate that DXCC mixed, band, and mode credit was granted because you submitted a QSL card.

The major changes in ADIF 3.0.4 are

1. The enumeration that governs the CREDIT_SUBMITTED and CREDIT_GRANTED fields has been expanded:

<http://adif.org.uk/proposed/304/ADIF_304_annotated.htm#Credit_Enumeration>

2. A new SUBMODE field has been defined

<http://adif.org.uk/proposed/304/ADIF_304_annotated.htm#Submode_Enumeration>

and many items in the MODE enumeration have been deprecated:

<http://adif.org.uk/proposed/304/ADIF_304_annotated.htm#Mode_Enumeration>

This "de-clutters" the MODE enumeration, and enables more rapid ADIF support of new digital modes that are variants of existing
digital modes.

3. Fields supporting automatic uploading to Club Log, HRD Log, and QRZ log have been added.

4. Fields that can convey lists of VUCC grid squares and lists of USA-CA counties have been added.

5. Fields supporting the SOTA award have been added

6. The enumeration that governs the CONTEST_ID field has been expanded:

<http://adif.org.uk/proposed/304/ADIF_304_annotated.htm#Contest_ID>

7. AWARD_SUBMITTED and AWARD_GRANTED fields and a SPONSORED_AWARD enumeration that governs them have been defined; this will allow
ADIF to be used to convey award information between users and award sponsors.

<http://adif.org.uk/proposed/304/ADIF_304_annotated.htm#SponsoredAward_Enumeration>

I will be phasing ADIF 3.0.4 support into future versions of DXKeeper. Purely additive items like the expanded CONTEST_ID and
CREDIT
enumerations will come first, along with deprecation of DXKeeper-proprietary fields that have now been standardized (e.g.
APP_DXKEEPER_CLUBLOG). Note that a similar deprecation of DXKeeper-proprietary fields occurred years ago after ADIF defined
standard
fields to convey QSL Sent and Rcvd status for eQSL and LotW.

When MODE and SUBMODE support is implemented, DXKeeper will be extended to export ADIF 3.0.4-compliant values for these fields. A
QSO whose MODE is set to PSK31, for example, would be exported with <MODE:3>PSK <SUBMODE:5>PSK31.

Importing an ADIF record that specifies <MODE:3>PSK <SUBMODE:5>PSK31 could for example be done in one of two ways:

a. set the MODE item to PSK31, and leave the SUBMODE item empty

b. set the MODE item to PSK, and set the SUBMODE item to PSK31

My thinking is to provide an option that lets the user choose, initially defaulting to "a." Users would decide whether and when
to
change from today's "MODE only" logging to "MODE and SUBMODE" logging. A script would be provided to update already-logged QSOs
"en
masse" for those ops who make the switch; these ops may have to update filters and scripts that are sensitive to the MODE item.

As always, critique and "better ideas" with respect to DXKeeper's support of ADIF 3.0.4 are welcome. However, this is not an
invitation to debate the merits of ADIF 3.0.4 here. If you'd like to participate in the development of future versions of ADIF,
develop an application that imports or exports ADIF, and join ADIFdev.

Dave, AA6YQ

Should I be concerned?
No.

If so, is there something I did wrong to cause this?
No - it was what your QSO partners did.

All of these seem to be coming from the NAQP SSB log I uploaded
recently.
The other stations signed and uploaded the CAB (Cabrillo) file from
their contest log. Unfortunately, most contest sponsors require the
mode to be specified as PHONE in their log formats instead of the
more accurate SSB, AM or FM. tQSL (since the very beginning - there
has been no change in the recent versions) can only sign what provided
so the resulting confirmations provide a mode group match rather than
a match for a specific voice mode.

Unless you need the specific *prefix* for WPX SSB (there is no WPX
"phone"), this lack of a mode match is not a problem. According to
K1MK of the ARRL, there is no WAS SSB endorsement even though the
paper application
www.arrl.org/files/file/Awards%20Application%20Forms/WAS_App.pdf
shows endorsements for AM, FM, USB and LSB.

Re: WAS candidate doesn't match QSO partner's mode

Dave AA6YQ

You uploaded a QSO with a mode of SSB. Your QSO partner uploaded that QSO with a mode of PHONE. SSB and PHONE are in the same "Mode
Group", so an LoTW confirmation was created, but this confirmation does not count for certain WAS awards where an "exact mode match"
is required. DXKeeper is informing you of this situation.

DXKeeper is now reporting this status because LoTW recently began reporting this status. The change is unrelated to the version of
TQSL being used.

If you are not pursuing any awards that require exact mode matches, e.g. WAS Digital or WPX SSB, then you can ignore the reports of
inexact mode matches.

In the future, DXKeeper will either provide an option that suppresses the display of this notification, or only display
thenotification if you are known to be pursuing an award that requires exact mode matches.

Yes, it was. I deleted it and DXlabs come up faster. Is that a common problem and why?

Another user who was experiencing "slow startup syndrome" ruled out interference from anti-malware applications as you did, and

"The Akamai NetSession Interface is a secure application that may be installed on your computer to improve the speed, reliability,
and efficiency for downloads and streams from the Internet. It is used by many software and media publishers to deliver files or
streams to you. If the software or media publisher uses the feature and if you enable it, NetSession can also use a small amount of
your upload bandwidth to enable other users of the NetSession Interface to download pieces of the publisher's content from your
computer. The NetSession Interface runs in the background and uses a negligible amount of your computer resources or upload
bandwidth when you are not actively downloading content."

Based on this description, I suspect that slow DXLaB startup time is the result of a defect in NetSession.

I've disable anti virus(MSE), logmein, logitech webcam and skydrive that start on login but seems to be no change.

That means that one or more of the applications that Windows automatically starts when booted in "normal mode" are causing your
DXLab applications to run slowly. In all likelihood, the culprit or culprits are anti-malware applications that haven't been
configured to consider your DXLab applications to be safe. Check all of your anti-virus and firewall applications.

In safe mode they come up almost immediately.

Try rebooting your PC into "Safe Mode", and then start your DXLab applications (ignore the Launcher's complaint about being
unable
to access the internet). Do they start more rapidly?

Terminate your DXLab applications and reboot Windows into normal mode when you're done assessing "safe mode" startup
performance.

I've noticed lately it takes the modules, including the launcher, to come up very slow. Is my PC getting too old for the
program?
:-). I'm running a Dell, 7 years old, 2.8GHZ Pentium D, with 3 gigs of ram.
