I had a similar problem a few days ago and it turned out that my computer clock was off by an hour. That made all incoming spots too old to display. After correcting that, all is well.

The PC clock was the source of my Spot Collector problem. A friend, W4VIC, told me to check the clock which I did. It was one hour fast. Once I reset the clock, Spot Collector started displaying spots again. I have no idea how the clock got screwed up, but the problem started right at the time that Flash Player crashed on my computer.

Dave, I had a major meltdown today. After trying a 2nd video card to add
another monitor, which worked until the drivers updated and I rebooted, my
XP would not reboot and I could not get back to the desktop..long story
shorter... I eventually had to restore with PC Angel and my data files are
in a another folder now and I've had to reload my applications. I started
with DXL. What files can I copy to the new install folders to get my old
layout (windows and columns and any other info. Setting up the size of the
windows no big deal but getting the columns back to the way I had it, that
would take a little work

DXLab applications store most of their settings in the Windows Registry.
If you directed the Launcher to create and update Workspace, then you
directing the Launcher to activate that Workspace will restore your settings
to the Windows Registry.

I wouldn't think so, especially since Keeper's log display was working just
fine.

Not sure what went on. Did have a weird issue with the clock, but got that
straight as well.

If your PC's clock was incorrect, that would stop SpotCollector from
populating the Spot Database Display because incoming spots would either be
"too old" or "in the future".

Thanks for the directions to the wiki. I'd pretty much covered those and
was still stumped. Not sure what just dislodged it, but something did and
now its working.

I did another reboot (when in doubt!). Then following Barry's possible
problem, I went straight to Adobe's flash page. Flash checked out ok, but
then I rebooted again, and up popped a flash update. I updated Flash,
loaded Launcher and when SC came up, I connected straight to a source and
they all appeared.

Certainly there's no connection between flash and DXK?

The interface used to log to DXKeeper does
not provide any look-up via DXView or SpotCollector so overrides are
not available. Overrides are a function of DXView/SpotCollector
and are not invoked when a third party program does a "write log"
entry.

DXKeeper assumes that the information it is directed to log is correct
and complete.

Bill, it is always best to put the MODE in the REMARKS column when you spot.
Most of the spotting programs just look at what the user has listed for the
particular frequency band, in their data base, and thats what comes out in
the spot. Putting the mode in the remarks should let their program know it
is not RTTY or whatever they have listed for that
particular frequency. It, for instance, is a real pain when there is
something like a CW test on, and ops dont indicate the mode, and their
spot freq is up in the rtty or ssb normal area of freqs. 160 meters is
another bugaboo since there are no real subbands, and ANYTHING may show up
on any portion of the band.

Fldigi-DXLabs Gateway Update

Rick Ellison

I have just posted an update on my website for my Fldigi-DXLabs Gateway.
This version fixes the jumping in frequency while tuning. And a couple of
Run Time error's that crept in since the last update.
You can download the Update or the Full Installer at the link below:

http://www.n2amg.com/software/fldigi-dxlabs-gateway/

For those of you that don't know what the Fldigi-DXLabs Gateway is:

Fldigi-DXLabs Gateway is a bridging application for use with the Digital
Modes application Fldigi by Dave Freese W1HKJ and the DXLabs suite by Dave
Bernstein AA6YQ.

Fldigi-DXLabs Gateway works with the following DXLabs applications.

DXKeeper - Qso's logged in Fldigi will transfer to DXKeeper when the save
qso button is Pressed. The ability to lookup previous contacts with the call
sign in the Fldigi call sign field.

Commander - Frequency and Mode information is transferred to Fldigi
automatically to act as Fldigi's rig control.

DXView - Call signs entered into Fldigi's call sign field will trigger a
look up in DXView using the call signs information.

SpotCollector - When Fldigi-DXLabs gateway is setup in SpotCollector to be
the Digital Mode Application, Clicking on spots in SpotCollector will send
the spot information to the gateway for setting the correct mode and
frequency in Fldigi.

Re: How do I change DX countrys for dx cluster sends

Joe Subich, W4TV

SpotCollector does not "send" the country when spotting a station.
The country you see is determined by the cluster network or SC on
*incoming* spots. Adding the override (and changing the country
for E51M in your log) will result in E51M appearing correctly for
you and that's all you can control.
