"Not being able to edit an executing macro until execution completes or is
aborted" is not a problem.

I fully agree with your statement. I'm not expecting you to do anything
about this. I'm also not trying to edit a macro while it is executing. My
issue is that it never stops executing even after all the log text has been
sent. It's just a particularity I noticed with this WX macro. I have the
abort as a work-around.

What I'm trying to do is share with you my spin on a problem in the context
of Weather Watcher Live. There has been talk about this in the group and
others will run into the same issue and come to you for resolution. I think
we now know the cause and we know what to do about it. (get rid of the
degree characters in the log file) My solution will be to remove Weather
Watcher Live from my system; its more trouble than it's worth.

Live long and prosper.

Just got a new Tec-Tec Eagle and have been using Commander.

Welcome to DXLab, Stan!

Thanks for the help.

Stan posted a message on the Eagle Yahoo group noting a problem with
Commander controlling his Eagle: clicking in Commander's bandspread or
QSYing with a wheeled mouse resulted in "Command rejected" messages. I
corrected the responsible defect and sent Stan the new version of Commander,
which he verified now works correctly.

So thank you, Stan, for reporting the problem and testing its solution.

That is a great idea, I had not considered running SpotCollector with N1MM, in fact I did the intire DX phone contest in DX keeper just so I would have Spot Collector and SpotSpy running. I will try your method this weekend for the CQIR contest, where I hope to be a "Irish" station.

For the DX contests when I know I'm not going to win any walnut, I really like using SC instead of the telnet window in N1MM. I can't double click on a spot and QSY to that frequency (with the AL-1500 amp I use during contests, that doesn't save much time anyway if I'm changing bands), but I know instantly whether to spend 10 or 15 minutes calling a multiplier that I need for a band/mode that I don't have and want.

Thanks! I thought it was probably an interaction with one of the other components but since none of them were running I couldn't figure out what.

During contests I leave SC running all the time so I can see what I missed overnight :-(

Why?

Because your transceiver was in RTTY mode when you terminated Commander.
I have modified the next version of SpotCollector to only replace empty
outgoing spot notes with "RTTY" if the transceiver's reported mode is RTTY
and Commander is running.

Dave -

Thanks for the note.

OK on - "PSK idle" - got it.

Next question - What are the differences relative to, when WinWarbler
measures and reports the "instantaneous" IMD vs the "peak" IMD ? Asked
another way - "when is the instant that the instantaneous IMD is
measured, and at what time, or over what period of time, is the peak IMD
measured ?

The instantaneous measurement is continuous (when the signal being
received is a PSK idle). Peak IMD records the highest observed value of the
instantaneous IMD; it is reset

- when you select a new frequency by clicking in the waterfall display

- when you select a new frequency by selecting the next lower or next higher
frequency signal

- when you change receive channels

- when you click its associated reset button, whose caption bears the letter
X.

I'm trying to help a friend install DX LAB. When we try to bring up DX
Keeper we get this error.

Another application has exclusively opened
c:\DXLab\DXKeeper\Databases\DXBprefix.mdb

When we click on OK , we then get this error.

Unable to open log database c:\DXLab\DXKeeper\Databases\DXBprefix.mdb

And then we can't log any contacts in the dxkeeper main or capture window.
The DXKeeper window in the top left corner indicates (no log open)

So. I'm assuming we have to open a log. But don't see how this would be
done.

The file DXBprefix.mdb is not a log file, it's a database that DXKeeper
uses to decipher DXCC entity information when importing ADIF files exported
by early versions of DXBase.

In the "Log file" panel at the top of the Configuration window's Log tab,
replace

c:\DXLab\DXKeeper\Databases\DXBprefix.mdb

with
c:\DXLab\DXKeeper\Databases\YourFriendsCallsign.mdb

and then click this panel's Create button.

Re: MDB error

Stephen Budensiek

Jeff,
Been awhile since I first started, and I'm sure Dave will show up
soon. My faint memory is that while installing it, you should be given a
choice somewhere to enter your callsign. That creates a file
<mycallsign.mdb>, which is required for it to run, is my recollection. I
believe it is DXLab\DXKeeper\Databases, so if it is your log, it would be
kb2m.mdb. Been too long ago to remember it all, but there is somewhere in
the setup you need to enter the call for it to start up right.
