Re: FW: RETURNED BY CQ WW: AB5C

Thanks to Bob K8RC for sending me this hyperlink, which describes the format
of the QSO section:

<http://www.cqwwrtty.com/logs.htm>

DXKeeper will generate correct Cabrillo for CQ WW RTTY if one follows notes
9 and 10 beneath the table in

<http://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxkeeper/Help/Contesting.htm>

Specifically,

Note 9: in CQ WW RTTY, the TX Exchange should be set to the two-digit CQ
zone followed by a space character followed by one of the following:
- a 2-character state abbreviation (for American stations)
- a 2-character province abbreviation (for Canadian stations)
- DX (for all other stations)

Note 10: In CQ WW RTTY, the recorded RX# item is assumed to contain a
one-digit or two-digit CQ zone and, optionally, a 2-character area
indicator: a state abbreviation, a province abbreviation or DX. If no area
indicator is present, DX is assumed. The zone and area indicator can be in
any order, with or without a space separator. Thus the following are all
acceptable receive exchanges:

03 NV

nv 3

CA3

25

dx31

26 DX

CQ WW RTTY has a different set of rules that CQWW SSB or CQWW CW.
CQ WW RTTY requires *STATE* in addition to zone for US stations
and *CALL AREA* (I think) in addition to zone for VE stations.

A proper Cabrillo format file for CQWW RTTY would look like this:

QSO: 14080 RY 2011-10-24 0014 W4TV 59 05 FL W1AW 59 05 CT
QSO: 14080 RY 2011-10-24 0014 W4TV 59 05 FL OH0XX 59 15 DX
QSO: 14080 RY 2011-10-24 0015 W4TV 59 05 FL G5AAA 59 14 DX

Note the "State/Area/DX" column in both the sent and received
exchange. However, the submitted file lacks the state/area/DX
column *and* contains a serial number instead of the CQ Zone.

The QSO section of your Cabrillo log below exactly matches the "Cabrillo

If you discover a discrepancy, please let me know what it is so I can
correct it.

Hello all.
This is what I get when I use the output from DXKeeper, I have this the
log with 4 other Cabrillo file generators and it got rejected. The last few
years I have build the log file by hand to get it accepted but I am no
longer willing to do that. I don't understand why they have to have a
special format that is only good for contest files.

I have pasted the top of the log file below since I probably can't attach
it.

Anyone have any ideas?

(This is an automatic reply)

Your submission to rtty@... does not appear to be in the
required Cabrillo format. Old style electronic summary sheets and log
files no longer meet the file format requirements of the contest and
can not be processed by the Contest Robot.

If you believe you have received this message in error or if you are
having problems creating the required log file, please contact me at
rtty-questions@... and I will try to help.
