Re: SpotCollector 7.4.4 is available

Norman Heyen

I installed the update this morning and am having problems. In the error log, there are several lines that contain ‘no read permission on 'Spots'.’ So I’m guessing that is the issue. But I’ve done nothing on the box (still running XP SP3) so not sure why this suddenly popped up.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Norman

Subject: [dxlab] SpotCollector 7.4.4 is available

This release

- removes trailing spaces from the names of bands defined in the sub-band definition file (tnx to Bob N9AKR)

- ensures that override modifications are conveyed to DXKeeper

- if the "Capture location info from notes" option is enabled, inspects spot notes for the phrase "NPOTA ABmn" or "NPOTA AB-mn" and
if found places ABmn in the Spot Database Entry's new NPOTA field

- provides an "Accept SQL Filter Updates" option that if enabled permits other applications to update the contents of an SQL filter
by name, and then invokes that filter (tnx to Iain N6ML)

- updates the ConfigurationGeneral.htm and SpotDatabase.htm documentation files

Notes:

1. for full NPOTA support,

1a. on the Configuration window's General tab, enable the "Capture location info from notes" option

1b. on the Configuration window's General tab, enable the "Accept SQL Filter Updates" option

1c. on the Configuration window's Spot Database Display tab, add the NPOTA Field to the Layout panel, and then drag its column to be
visible in the Spot Database Display

1d. setup an SQL Filter whose Caption is NPOTA

1e. in DXKeeper 13.2.3 or later, click the NPOTA button in the "Other Progress Reports" panel on the "Check Progress" tab of
DXKeeper's Main window; DXKeeper will generate and display an NPOTA progress report, populate the SQL in the filter whose Caption
you specified in step 1d, and invoke that SQL filter

1f. after logging one or more QSOs with NPOTA Activators using DXKeeper 13.2.3 or later, click the NPOTA button in the "Other
Progress Reports" panel on the "Check Progress" tab of DXKeeper's Main window; DXKeeper will generate and display an NPOTA progress
report, update the SQL in the filter whose Caption you specified in step 1d, and invoke that SQL filter

2. Update your firewall and anti-malware applications to consider this new version of SpotCollector to be "safe"

3. If this upgrade doesn't work correctly, see the "After an Upgrade" section of
<http://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/ApplicationStoppedWorking>

4. After upgrading, to revert to the previous version of SpotCollector, see
<http://www.dxlabsuite.com/dxlabwiki/RevertApplicationVersion>

SpotCollector 7.4.4 is available via the DXLab Launcher, and via
