First transatlantic message exhange with APRS Messenger

First transatlantic message sent and ack received:

G4HYG-2>APRSK63::NH7C-3 :Hello Sid!{30
NH7C-3yPSKao3::G4HYG-2 :ack30

This is only 12 hours after I put the program on the website!

By the way I'm using 40W out from a Yaesu FT-747 into a 1/4 wave ground mounted vertical made from a wire up a fishing rod. No big beams or kilowatts here!

Thanks, Doug!

I left the program on receive overnight and I've copied this from my HF traffic box:

G4HYG-2>APSK63:=5332.76N/00225.91W&Testing APRS Messenger v2.26 on 10.1497 MHz

KD4MOJ-d es iPtaIot=30i.1dN<0842O.seEn§dinoo e s uö eeadU2a t ”vë tk aeeo aaeyt ot h lt he nottK rMGPe>=KD=pe te ttestPSc s lr 2.t

G6GVI-10>APSK63:=5334.66N\00226.84W-Ross, 20W into end-fed wire

Looks like some of your packets got across the Atlantic.

Good deal Chris, glad I partially made it! I usually see EU stations on 30m and 17m (PSK31) on a regular basis... so hopefully I'll make it across the pond again using your program.

Seems Windows update rebooted my PC last night but I started Messenger back up this am before I left for work. Maybe others will see the beacon. The band was really rocking yesterday @ 2130z when I got home from work, then dropped like a rock about 2 hours later.

On the Igate address (which I haven't used yet), I didn't see any port options. Do you just put the port number after the URL (e.g. rotate.aprs.org:14501)? My Igate computer died so I'll play around with that this weekend.

I've coded port 14580 into the program to try and automate it as far as I can.

All you have to do is enter your callsign in the Mycallsign: box, add your APRS-IS passcode in the Passcode box and click Connect APRS Server.
If you want to use a different APRS server type it in the APRS-IS Server box without the port number.
