cross country loop bias t work on wellbrook loop

Hi all, just out of intrest does the cross country bias t work on wellbrook loop?
regards

i've never tested the Bias Tee unit with a Wellbrook loop.

There have been no other replies to your question because most Wellbrook loop owners who buy a LAA++ do so to replace the original amplifier in the Wellbrook loop which is prone to water ingress.

If you can check your Wellbrook bias tee with a voltmeter measure the voltage and polarity of the DC voltage coming out of the antenna socket.

If the polarity is positive on the coax center pin and negative on the shield then it's the same as the CCW Bias tee and it will power the Wellbrook loop it the same voltage is used to power the Bias tee.

Sorry for a delay in answering the bias tee question, but I wanted to do some measurement first.

I have a Wellbrook and also a LAA. Both are powered by the same CCW 12 volt low noise power supply via a 2-way splitter, so I can confirm that the 12 volt supply connectors are the same.

I can also confirm the outputs of both bias-T's are nominally 12 volts positive. The following voltage readings may be useful:

Power supply voltage       12.22
LAA output off load           11.72
LAA on load                      11.31
Wellbrook output off load  12.17
Wellbrook on load             11.52

HI Ray.thanks for letting me know.it was just out of intrest.

Thanks, Ray for running the voltage tests.

It looks like both bias tee units will power both types of antenna.
