Laptop Connection Issue - Missing SoftRock Option

Evening all.

After coming back to radio a couple of years ago, I've rediscovered my love for my SDR-4+. But I'm restricted to using it at home with my desktop computer and a very temporary antenna install. I'd love to take this receiver hill topping but I can't connect the receiver to my laptop.

When I connect the receiver directly to the laptop, I don't have the option of SoftRock when trying to run the software (both HDSDR and SDR Console).

Would this be as simple as a missing driver or is it something basic that I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Paul.

Hi Paul,

It sounds like you haven't installed the SoftRock USB driver.

If you look in the Files section of this forum you will find the "PE0FKO-USB-Driver-Installer.exe".

Open that program to install the USB driver and the CFSDR program that HDSDR uses to contol the frequency of the SDR-4+ receiver.

Regards,

Chris

Yep, I knew it was something simple.

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of the drivers Chris.
