Hi Tom
If going for mw dx then defo go for big cardioid loops..2m square.

I made an inverted delta using the supplied wire and wooden supports. It works as expected indoors amid strong EMI/RFI but keeps the hobby alive until I can get something more solidly constructed and

Re: CCW Loop Help
Chris
40m at night
suburban home
indoors
no attenuation and no OVLD LED on 705 and yes the 7300 can overload on 40m and 80m but not as bad as in EU with heavy 500KW SW broadcasters
Will try to FT818

Re: CCW Loop Help
John,
A few questions for you...
What frequency bands and time of day did you try it? For example you won't hear much if the band is closed say on 28 MHz at night.
What is your location like?

Re: CCW Loop Help
I got mine just last week, running from the bias tee from my RSP1A. I just have it strung up over a window until I can properly mount it in the roof space but it's certainly working.

I suspect high noise floor on big mag loop is nvis smpsu noise from surrounding area..hence noise cancellation will not

Re: Moving home..bigger garden in sticks ..k9ay’s??
Thanks Simon, I'll take a look over there, I recall Chris's AAs using CAT5. I'm quite familiar with the external variety for signal + PoE applications, I have quite a few offcuts lying around that
