David,
CE, will be an engine number, for some stupid reason, a number of states used the engine number for title and registration purposes. No, automatic transmissions were never used in Crosleys, from the factory. Who knows what someone may have done in the mean time. Pricing, I will leave to others, as they're all over the place. From the pictures on the site, it looks like a solid body that has had a fair amateur restoration. No pictures of interior but I see hints of it that do not appear original. Engine and running condition are unknown. I'd say probably 2,500 with what you know. If the interior is decent and it runs ok, you could double that for a driver.

Thank you sir! That is all I wanted - just a starting point. Nowhere near enough details to put a real value on the car, I just need a good baseline to start with.

On May 9, I posted on here a screen shot of the Cornish car, including the descriptive text. Note that it included a rebuilt engine, and 5 spare engines. Others have referenced pictures of the Crosley being auctioned, but I cannot find herein any link to the auction catalog. Where is it? Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

JUST FROM LOOKING AT THE PICTURE YOU HAVE HERE, I DON'T SEE ANY GAS CAP OR SPOUT. MAY NOT HAVE A GAS TANK. SO IT WON'T RUN I WOULD THINK. NO SHOW OF THE ENGINE? I THINK THAT PRICE IS TOO MUCH FOR JUST A ROLLING BODY. JUST GUESSING.

That's perceptive of you to suspect it doesn't run due to the missing gas cap. The ad's text, which says the engine needs to be installed, seems to corroborate your theory. I don't know anything about this specific car except what I read. But I'm thinking a solid body, rebuilt engine, five spare engines, new tires, good seats, and a "need cash, best offer" bargaining point, make this worth considering.
