Hi. I've got a oil leaking problem. Maybe somebody could help me
with. After I drive for a while, the area where the block bolts to the crankcase, ther is oil standing. It has a new oil line, rear seal, ( but it still leaks.) and front seal. The valve cover dosen't leak also. Has anybody got any ideas???? Thanks, Barry Smedley

Is there supposed to be a gasket between the block and the

The older Ford FE engines, 352, 360, 390, 428, Did the same thing after replacing the rear seal. The area around the seal gets worn and when you put in a new seal it doesn't fit as well. Another thought is that, if you have the old starter that you add oil too, you could be adding too much oil. Ron

Hello Barry, If you think your getting oil leakage from the fuel pump area, it could either be the mounting gasket or inside the pump there is a rubber seal that fits around the diaphragm push rod and fits over a tubular section of the lower casting. This seals the crankcase section of the pump. We frequently find these to be bad. Butch

Try the bolts that attach block to crankcase.Are they tight?The gasket
between the block and case can fail too.Do you have too much blow-by? Oil can come out of the breather and run down the side onto the crankcase if there is too much crankcase pressure. Dave Coudriet

Hello Art, On the Crosley engine, since there is NO separate cylinder head, the cylinder&head assembly is most commonly referred to as the BLOCK, and the aluminum center section where the crankshaft rides is usually referred to as the CRANKCASE or the CENTER SECTION. On a "normal" engine, where the crankshaft rides in the cylinder section, that assembly IS referred to as the BLOCK. Butch
