Re: where are Crosley people ?

I didn't look where Wellington is located, but we have a Rocky Mt Region that have a yearly show, generally in the Golden/Denver area. The contact info is on our main web site. I will grant you they are not large shows but more than one usually. The President of that region has several in Denver.

I don't agree that the young people don't know what a Crosley is. You are either into old cars or not, those same young people don't know what a Packard is either. At our National show you see a lot of interest from the under 40 group.

48 wagon

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what the backseat (bottom) looks like? ie: does
it have cording across it like the front seats do? If so, would
anyone have a pic or be able to tell me approximately where?
thanks
Jan

Hello: We have a '48 wagon also. I've never looked under the back seat bottom and so can't answer your question right off. If no one gives you an answer soon, I will wander out to the barn and uncover the little car and take a look for you. Steve

48 wagon (again

"bkwelch <bkwelch@...>

Hi-I am new to this and am not sure where my last posting went so we
will try this again. Steve, thanks for your prompt reply. I was
actually meaning the backseat where you would sit (not the underside-
didn't want you making a trip out to the barn for nothing!).
Anyway, just wondering if there is ribbing across the backseat like
there is on the front seats.
Thanks
Jan

Hi,
Yes the original rear seat in my 48 does have the cording. It
runs all the way around the bottom(at the top edge) across the middle
at about 8" from the rear and straight towards the front from the
rear as to the front straight leaving the corners. The back has just
one cord in the center over the bar. Please let me know if you need a
photo.
Good luck!

Re: 48 wagon

Steve-thanks! I would really appreciate a pic if you would be so
kind! I have the original front seats but not the back and wasn't
sure what it was supposed to be.
Thanks again! Jan

Re: 48 wagon

Thanks folks, I have the framework for my 48 wagon too but nothing else to go
by. I shure could use a picture to go by too. Would it be possible to post a
picture? Do all the years have a zipper on the back rest section of the rear
seat? Thanks for any help, Sparky

Re: 48 wagon

"bkwelch <bkwelch@...>

Sparky-I can post some pics tonight of what I have done so far...the
originals that I have were in really tough shape but I was able to
make patterns from them. I still have some fine tuning but when I
am done, I would be happy to share the patterns with you. You can
contact me at welch@... and we can certainly figure something
out!
thanks
Jan

re #1627 where are the Crosley people ?

"crosmobill2 <crosmobill@...>

Well there is some interest in people under 40 , and if we had a
good producer of all repro parts there would be more ! and MORE cars
But that`s a whole different story !....Regards Crosmobill

To start off with, regarding the following, I am not
the person to do this. I am too old, too tired and
falling apart....but,. I bet if somehow there could be
a count of everyone who is now driving and/or
restoring a Crosley of any year and/or model...by
preparing a proper and professional register...and
just harass every car magazine, every car magazine and
book publisher...and every one of these Saturday and
Sunday so called car shows on television, flood the
inter-net every day with stuff on Crosley's....and get
each and every one of those outfits to do features on
this little firecracker of a gas saving
CLASSIC...which is making remarkable combacks on the
roads all over America....because it is a little Great
American Classic.....then I bet suppliers and
reproducers of car parts would sit up and take notice
saying its time to gear up Crosley parts for the
masses. And folks.......that is the only way it will
ever get done. You have to force the Crosley issue to
get what you want for your great little cars.

23rd annual southwest unique little car show

"Shawn <srobins@...>

I received this email today and thought I would pass it on to
everyone.

My name is Hal Trick, and I just wanted to let all Crosley owners
know about
the 23RD ANNUAL SOUTHWEST UNIQUE LITTLE CAR SHOW, to be held this
year in
Tucson, Arizona, April 4-5, 2003. This car show, which is held in
Arizona,
California, or Nevada each year, features mico and minicars or small
cars
you just don't see very often like Hillman's and Simca's.

Please contact Barney Rael, via email him at
barneyrael@... for detailed information and registration forms.

YEA......I AM GOING TO GO!!! At last a honest to
goodness little car show. I have been asking about
shows like this from time to time. It would be better
for me if it were in Southern California....but I will
take Tucson with no problems. I don't own a little
car....I no longer own a car period....but I am a fan
of the micro's. Can I still go?

Oh boy.....Southwest Airlines save a seat for me to
Tucson.

Thanks,

Doug Vernon
