Okay, thanks for checking.  Could have an Indianapolis address. Sue K. I think. Maybe I'm just remembering wrong.

I think Bill Gault of the Ohio Region may be able to help you.

What is a complete Crosley CIBA engine worth?

Todd Swangstu

Local guy has a CIBA engine on a stand that was apparently used around an old farmstead for power.  It is the complete engine with radiator on a stand.  Has not run in years but looks healthy and turns free.

I wouldn't mind to pick it up for spare if the price was right.  What would something like this sell for high and low prices if anyone could help.

Thank you

Todd

Re: Crosley speed equipment ...... where to find

Saw this old thread and am wondering if you ever got a response to your request for info. I sent an email recently and received an automated response that I needed to supply a note as to why I was inquiring which I did and have heard nothing. Is it still possible to communicate with Braje?

The high end price range would be determined by what crankshaft it has.  If it was a commercial engine with the good crank, it should have a "C" on the motor number.  The good cranks also have 6 bolt holes instead of just 3.  I also find the later model crankcases that have the oil filter behind the water pump to be more desirable and worth more to me.

Todd, I recently purchased one in decent shape, also not running, it was complete with transmission, starter/ generator and radiator and all accessories.
The farmer I got it from wanted  $100 for all of it, I thought it was a good buy.

Why not forego the outer clips to hold them and do like the original ones, held to the wheel by the hubcap ? Much simpler.

Sad News - Member Joe Miller Has Passed

Jim Bollman

I got this news from Jeff Gladden last night, here is all I know.

Hate to pass on this sad news, however, we lost our friend Joe Miller who passed away today.  He was great and active Member of the Crosley Club.  He served as Director of Regions for many years and led the Keystone Region as President for many years too.  In recent years, he has been our Keystone Region Editor.  Joe was also the organizer of our Road Rally at Wauseon for all these years too.  Needless to say Joe was a big part of the Club and Region; he will be missed by so many.

The arrangements I know are as follows:

Family/Visitation Thursday May 16th 2-4 and 7-9 at Mantins Funeral Home in Ford City, PA, and the funeral will be on Friday May 17th at 11 a.m. at United Rockville Lutheran Church, Ford City, PA

Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Regards,
Jeff

I don’t know how that works because i’ve never seen or owned an original set of Crosley trimrings.
Do you have pictures? Thanks

It doesn’t look like the ring is wide enough to get under the cap. The original was wider. I have original on my SS.

The original "trim ring" was not so much a trim ring as we commonly know them but more of a hub cap extender to make the regular Crosley baby moon style cap look like a full wheel cover. I think they called them beauty rings.  It did not go way down into the rim but just dipped a bit before rising up to go under the hubcap. I am attaching a picture I found on the internet of something similar but not Crosley.

So, it was actually held on by the hubcap and not by some spring steel teeth?
