Mary Ethel Miller
It is with extreme sadness I report to you the passing of Mary Ethel Miller of Pennsylvania.  Mary Ethel was the wife of our Director of Regions C. Joe Miller.  She was an active supporter of the hobby and the Crosley Club on a National level as well as the Pa Region.   For those of you who attend Wauseon, you will remember her in 2 areas.  First and foremost (to me) she was the lady with the cheery smile and ready laugh that seemed to be manning the Pa. Region tent almost constantly.  Secondly she was the person who was there when the Keystone Road rally kicked off…helping to organize things, passing out water, and keeping Joe calm.
Personally, my earliest memory of Mary Ethel dates back over 20 years when I attended my first Crosley event in Pennsylvania.  I went to the event to learn more about the cars.  I walked in the door at the Brodbecks event and was immediately welcomed by her.  In short order, I had joined the Pennsylvania Region, got door prize tickets, and bought tickets for 2 different raffles.  In a whirlwind day, I met dozens of people, saw some fantastic cars, and had a fantastic time.  All because of her welcome!!  As I said I came to learn about cars… but I left understanding that the Club was the people…That was Mary Ethel….The people.
We all mourn with the Miller family on the loss of this great lady.  Please remember her and her family in your prayers.

Dave

Hello all, Jeff and I were discussing Tilly carb adjustments yesterday and trying to figure out how to preset the throttle adjustment screw. Is there a recommended amount turns in or out that screw should be for base tuning setup? The service manual only describes fine tune adjustment.
Thanks, Gabe.

Free 1950 CD Series Sedan

Sam Nicolosi

The interior is filled with extra wheels & tires, and a hodge-podge of seat frames (2 front seat frames & one back bench frame) (no upholstery that's worth a darn). No engine or tranny. No Title.  Almost no body rust (S. Dakota car).
Setting on all 4 wheels (2 are flat)  Won't roll.... I don't know why...  Located in Dayton, Ohio. Sold the property that it's located on. Must move it soon. Bring your own muscle.

Free: Two Crosley Wheels - Syracuse, NY Area

I have 2 wheels and tires from a Crosley axle that my father gave me years ago. I would gladly give them away if someone wanted them. I hate to scrap them, but I have no use for them. I am located in Central New York near Syracuse.

Thank you, Steve.

If no one wants them for themselves maybe someone can pick them up on the way to the Nationals and put them in the silent auction to help pay for the meet.

For Sale: 1950 FarmOroad - $5800 - Crosley Nationals OR IN

Jim Bollman

My husband and I are the proud owners of a 1950 Farm O Road, SN# FR120.  It was a gift to us from my foster dad, who's aunt gifted it to him, her husband worked at the Crosley plant in Marion, Indiana.  Apparently this was used as a maintenance vehicle in the Marion plant.  We retrieved the vehicle from a falling down barn and have had it in storage ever since. We've owned it for over 30 years, and had grand intentions of restoring it. It is never going to happen, so it's time to let it go.

We want to sell the vehicle to someone who would appreciate it and use it.  It is not rusty in anyway, it has always been in dry storage and would make a great project for someone.  We have no plans of giving this away.

It has duals, front and back PTO and hydraulics. Needs a windshield.

The Farm O Road has never been titled, we have had a police inspection done and have all the paperwork in order to get an Indiana title.

If someone is interested before the National meet it is available in Fort Wayne IN for $5800 or at the Nationals we can discuss the price. We plan on bringing it to the meet and going home without it. We can also deliver it to the Nationals if you pre-buy.

More pictures are available.

Thank You Jim for choosing my car. I was given the car in 1953. I drove it to school and have many memories, good and bad. I will turn 81 in October and that car has introduced me to some of the nicest people in the country. It has been on the trailer for 3 years. It should be at Wauseon this year as a tribute to the CC class. It is so funny how no matter how long they sit resting, a little gas and a strong battery and they come to life.
Hope to see many of you at the Ohio Region tent  at Runway and Restroom corner. Or.... maybe at the Ohio Region Trading Post.

They won't fit Crosley wheels. Several have tried the different ones being sold. OEM Crosley beauty rings were chrome plated and getting rare as hen's teeth.

hey folks I WON

some may remember several weeks ago I posted about getting the model year corrected on a '47 convertible I had purchased.   after nearly three months I have the authorization in my grubby fist. I can go to the local BMV and the '47 will become a properly titled '47 CC rather than a '49 as the title claimed.  I was blatantly lied to, given incorrect procedures, supplied with half answers to questions I didn't ask, ignored on questions I did ask, and sent on wild goose chases. I was told to have the car inspected by the State Patrol as an assembled hot rod or a rebuilt totaled wreck, the OSP acted like I was crazy, the Crosley didn't fit their criteria. I was told to have the VIN verified like bringing in an out of state car to be titled in Ohio, it was already on an Ohio title. I was instructed to put it back on the trailer and return 250 miles to the county where I purchased it because they had mis-keyed the year, but I could prove the title said 1949 at least 3 owners and 2 counties back, dating to before 1993. I learned that Ohio had gone digital in 1993 and flushed all inactive titles out of the system then, any vehicle in a barn or garage without current 1993 license and a lost title no longer existed. the state did not micro film those titles, there was no record and no way to get a new title. cars suddenly needed a title to be junked, without one a vehicle had to be illegally cut up and destroyed to be scrapped. it is not legal to remove a VIN plate, nor is it legal to scrap parts of a car that show any VIN identification. I was accused of trying to steal the identity of previous owners, most of them likely deceased. ever get the feeling that everyone is saying "go away, bother some one else?"  I think that is what the state was trying to tell me.
I was trying to be cheap and only pay for one title, do the transfer and correction at the same time. this was my mistake. I was told that the correction had been approved and the Memorial Day holiday probably was holding up the mail, a full week after the holiday. no-one in the Columbus (state capital) office could get their computer to tell who had typed the letter or where it was mailed to, only that it was approved and mailed. finally I put the title in my name, then I got lucky, a clerk knew who typed and mailed the decisions of such requests. even though I had supplied them with a copy of the back of the previous title, assigning ownership to me, also my name and phone number for the examiner to get answers to any question he might have, he did not contact or talk to me. the examiner and supervisor of the area, a Mr. Karim Aba, didn't return my calls nor answer emails because he was too busy (on the clock??) preparing to vacation out of the country for a month. talking to this clerk she claimed the letter could not be sent to me because I was not the owner. lastly I convinced her to check her computer, lo and behold I am the official owner, the new title says so. now sweet as candy she can approach the temporary supervisor to approve retyping the authorization and mailing it to me. "this might take a few days." 17 calendar days later I can say I have experienced the system and persevered, the letter came today. she ain't a beautiful car but my proper 1947 CC convertible is coming to Wauseon.
