I agree with the last few e-mailers to respond to your inquiry---let's keep
the new format and let it evolve. Gosh it's only been up for a few weeks.
Not hard to get around the commercials.

New club

"deanwst" <deanws@...>

Hi guys,
I don't want to pay for any groups. I'm a member of about 70! I
closely follow 10 or 20. This is one.
I don't own a Crosley yet, although I do currently have my eye on
one. I'm here to learn, the same as on quite a few other clubs.
There is an easy way to avoid the advertising!
When you open the club page, click on messages, then click on expand
messages when the messages page comes up. You get a page of messages
listed (like digest form e-mail) without any ads. If I want to reply
to a message, I go to the specific number of message and reply. No
advertising to read messages.
I hope that if the club moves, this club site will stay up for those
that aren't moving! I am really enjoying the learning experience.
By the way, if any of you are interested seeing some really cool
Italian bodied, Crosley powered race cars check out the Bandinis from
the 50's. Here's a little write up:
<http://www.carsfromitaly.com/others/index.html>
Scroll to Bandini and click on the link. Neat stuff.

could use some parts but don't need everything!!! they are both 48 wagons
and both need TOTAL resto. The floors are gone but the center hump is still
there, For more info. E-Mail me direct at fwitham@... Thanks Sparky

I guess I don't understand the reasoning behind forming another club.
Regarding the advertising that keeps our Club free: it's easy to scroll past it.
(And there might even be an ad for something we all need!)
I'm kind of surprised to be the only voice against it so far, because I believe YahooGroups offers all the features here I think we need. Thanks.

Lou

Crosley Gang Back Up

"Jim_Bollman" <Jim@...>

Looks like Yahoo fixed whatever was broke on our message board for the
last 2 days. I was about to send them a message when I thought I would
check what all was broke and it was back up.

The old club is still in limbo, I did send my weekly message about
that.

Well you can count me in on paying a small nominal fee to continue
the use of the board without messages. shawn

Guess I spoke to soon it went back down again. This is a test to see if the mail side is still working. This was sent at 10:10PM on 4/16.

you have heard that when something sounds to good to
be true, it probably isn't. such is the case on the
headliner kit. I rechecked my notes and saw that I was
in error the actual cost was $225 not $125. Sorry.
The quality by what I know is very good.I have a
problem in that the front half of the headliner had
the side panels sewn on in reverse but, they will
correct that for me at their expense. They are good
people to deal with.

What year and what type of Crosley do you have?

Re: New Club

Don Tiana <dstiana@...>

I'd have to say at present the advertising doesn't seem to be
a bother to me, so I'd like to give our new site a little more time
to gel, but I certainly can appreciate the frustration and writing
about it helps (a little). What I find strange is that the other
"car and shop" Yahoo groups I belong to don't have the same
format as this new Crosley Club, they don't have the ads.

What I have learned is the 6 volt system uses the same 0 gage wire
used on large trucks.

Re: problem

Jim Bollman <Jim@...>

AJ,

If you don't find one on this list Dave Edwards or Service Motors will have them. If it is just the small spring clips that hold the bearing in place, they are available also from I believe both of them. Their addresses and Phone numbers can be got off the clubs vendor page.

Since you are from North West Ohio don't forget the Crosley National Show in your back yard, July 12th-13th at the Fairgrounds in Wauseon Ohio.

I'm trying to get a deal so at least some level could remain free.
