Welcome to the New Crosley Group

"Jim_Bollman" <Jim@...>

I'm tired of waiting on Yahoo to move our old club. So I started a new Group. If we end up with 2 we will decide what to do with the extra.

Welcome all.

Thanks Jim. Better than nothing. (Which is what we had) Would love
to go back to old group. But know we can't so this will have to do
for now. Larry

Hopefully

this new set up will smooth out in a few weeks.

Jim, thanks for the effort you put into this .

Photo Policy

"Jim_Bollman" <Jim@...>

In an attempt to put a little order in photo posting this time, I created a bunch of folders. If possible pick the folder that makes the most sense and put your photos in that folder. Feel free to put sub folders, if you want to group your photos, in one of the main folders. If I left out any important categories at the top level let me know or make it.

Feel free to upload photos that you had on the other club if you want. I will upload some of the ones I saved as I have time.

Jim...

pics, but can't figure out how to get them into the Super Sports
folder. Regards, Hal

Welcome Back

"tmkldwwj" <tmkldwwj@...>

I too want to thank Jim for the effort to put this back together. I
know it took tremendous patience and effort .. Thank you . Also I
wanted to tell everybody that I got the engine for Norman running
last week for the first time. I know that that might seem like a
tiny thing to most of you, but to an inexperienced person like me, it
was the thrill of a lifetime. Hearing that little engine come to
life was like hearing the first cry from a baby. I was like a kid on
Chrismas morning for a week. I'm now getting a hurry to get done. I
want to DRIVE!!!!!!

Moving Forward

Thanks Jim, For getting us back on "Crosley" road.- John

Thanks to everybody on the help with my squealing clutch. I put in a
new piolt bushing, works great now! But now I have a sick starter. I
think this Crosley loves the attention!

Thanks again, Bo.

Re: Photo Policy

Hal,

I don't see you as a member of the new Crosley Group. I know you were a member of the old club but it is still stuck in YaHell, going into its 3 week and no sign that it will ever come out.

I have for now, left the posting of messages wide open on the new group, an option we didn't have on the old club, but you have to join to post pictures. If I just missed your membership on the list I'll have to look into what your problem is. At least 2 members have posted pictures so far.

As long as we don't get spam or inappropriate messages I'll leave it open so non members can post. We may get more ads for Crosley parts. If we get flooded with messages that don't belong I'll shut off the non member posting.

Home Again

"rwright24127" <R.Wright@...>

Jim; finally found it!! It is good to be home with the group and
friends that I started with. I fill that the members will all come
back if we all pass the message.
Now down to basics I have a tranny problem that is or isn't answered
in the Crosley Garage. I only can get the little truck to move in
neutral no other gear. Sounds strange but when I put the truck in a
gear it stalls, in nuetral the truck will go foward, Any suggestions?
Again Good to be home. Ron Wright

Scrappage Bill

"Jim_Bollman" <Jim@...>

I posted info on a scrappage bill a few months ago. I just saw this good news on another site.

Jim...

---------------------------------------------------------------

SCRAPPAGE IS DEFEATED ON U.S. SENATE FLOOR !

Attention SEMA Action Network:

Thank you all for your hard work in opposing, and now defeating, the old
car scrappage provision in the Energy Policy Act of 2002 (Section 822 of S.
517).

In case you haven't heard the news, Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell's(R-CO)
amendment to eliminate scrappage from the legislation was astonishingly enough passed by unanimous consent. In the end, even the principal sponsor of the scrappage provision, Senator Jeff Bingaman (D-NM), was
not willing to oppose the Campbell amendment!

This is fantastic work, work that would not have been possible without the
literally thousands of phone calls, faxes, emails and letters to U.S. Senators that SEMA Action Network vehicle clubs and individual enthusiasts were able to muster. Hobbyist efforts were cited by Senator Campbell and Senator Sam Brownback (R-KS) as a compelling force in defeating this
scrappage provision.

SEMA sincerely thanks everyone for their dedication, hard work, and willingness to protect the vehicle hobby today and to preserve for it for our children. This is an amazing victory and a testament to the
powerful connection between the specialty aftermarket automotive industry and the
American vehicle hobbyist community.

Job well done.

Re: Home Again (Transmission Problems)

"Jim_Bollman" <Jim@...>

Ron, from your description it sounds like another case of bad or worn shifting forks and shifter ball (end of shifter stick). This can get you in a mode where you can only get neutral or 2 gears at onced or 1 gear or multiple gears. The popets are probably missing or in the bottom of your trany at this point because once the shifter goes to far they pop out into the area that the shifting rods move in. Sometimes they push the pressed in plugs on the trany top out and you loose both on the ground.

I would take the top off the transmission and see what you find. With the top off you can move the gears around and see if anything else is wrong.

Best fix if the top needs rebuilding is to buy one of the new tops Dave Edwards sells. You can rebuild the top but you will have as much in the rebuild as you can buy one of his new ones.

I think I am finally here/am I not

"crosley52" <crosley52@...>

Looks like I am here and a new member as well, took me a while but
maybe the whole thing is just a bad dream and we will all wake up
soon. It is a shame that the YAHOOS at YAHOO seem to have lost the
whole damn club but I hear they may have had their hands full with
Government and Local officials in busting the big child porno ring
that was operating on YAHOO. Well I hope they have an excuse any way
but as I have seen in the past with all servers they will not
explaine,or even tell us of any problem at all.
