Re: Lumber Wagon

Thanks Park!
The back seat in a wagon was not as cutting edge technology as many of Crosley’s other firsts. Had it folded down flat they would have hit a home run, at least with me anyway, LOL.

Our kids are all grown up and we have three perfect grand daughters, none of whom have any interest in car shows, so my back seat was expendable for now. I may make a stud arrangement that would allow me to switch back and forth from seat to flat bed in a couple minutes if the need arises.

Nice, Dave! There’s a lot of space back there when you’re not carrying four humans.

From my experience taking carfuls of kids to car shows, I could either spend $50 on hot dogs and lemon shake-ups, or $50 on parts. Either is a worthwhile use of space and money.  😁

I have found one for sale in the Midwest. Concluded my deal in the past week. Being trucked to me in So. Cal. in the next week or so. Does any one know if there is a pre-made split tonneau available.

Yes that is the one.   Thanks

Re: Bandini oil pan

If you’re talking about the finned aluminum, wide, low profile pan I’ve seen, you have a scarce part.  If it’s in good condition, I’d pay $400, and it may well be worth more than that.

Re: Clutch chatter

Patrick Keller

The motor mounts are new and tight. I pulled the trans mount and it is good and tight. I did my best to clean the clutch plate. I also took the opportunity while underneath to check fluids. I jacked the back of the car up and discovered a wheel bearing had some play. I tightened the castle nut one notch and it seemed to take the play away. On the next nice weather weekend I will see if it has improved.

Hi all ,
I have an extra rear axle housing for a VC I don’t need. It’s just the housing and axles ( no ring and pinion or brake parts) located in North San Diego County, CA. Let me know if there is any interest.

We are happy to announce that we have confirmed the dates and location for the 2021 West Coast Crosley Club Annual Meeting:
October 15-16-17, in Bakersfield, California!

This will be our first ever trip to this historic city at the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley.  Known worldwide for the Bakersfield Sound, The Beatles even caught the The Bakersfield bug, covering a Buck Owens tune, "Act Naturally", in 1965!

While the city isn't as well known for its architecture as for its music, it saw a mid century building boom that resulted in some notable achievements, including the Frank Lloyd Wright- designed Ablin Residence, completed in 1961.  The house is a stunner (cool video link below ), and owner David Coffrey has generously invited us - and our Crosleys - to visit.  Frank Lloyd Wright famously owned an entire fleet of Crosley HotShots, painted in his custom color, Taliesin Red, and had his students drive them back and forth from Wisconsin to Arizona and back each year.  Imagine THAT trip!

The Meet will follow our traditional schedule:  Friday happy hour Meet-and-Greet; Saturday Car Show and Swap Meet; Saturday Night Banquet; Sunday breakfast, followed by the Crosley Cruise.

Of course, ALL of the above depends on the October status of the Pandemic and the status of Kern County's rules on the size of public gatherings.  Fingers crossed, we'll all be vaccinated by then and COVID-19 will be in our rear view mirrors.

We'll send full details and registration materials in July as usual, but wanted to give everyone an update.  Look forward to seeing everyone!

Best!

That's a neat table, David. I guarantee that if I built one of those, my wife would NOT let me bring it anywhere near the house. It would have to live in the garage.
