Re: Wanted - Crosley Trailer.

Mike, A simple "Gardening" trailer will work fine. I used one for many years. A 6' X 12' bed with a ramp gate will work fine. A 14' length is a bit nicer. Even brand new, the steel single axle trailer is quite reasonable and will last a long time if you are not running in the salt.

Yes, that small O-Ring replaces the packing gland.

I removed the old main gland nut packing, it was all dried up and probably leaking anyway.  The kit included a small o-ring which appears to be the replacement for the gland nut packing on the main adjustment  Is this correct?

Thanks,

Tillotson DY9 Idle tubes

Ken Ballein

Hi,

I started on rebuilding a Tillotson DY9.

I have several for parts and was able to remove 2 idle tubes.  One was slightly bent but I think it will work.

Does anyone have a few of these for sale?  If I could get a couple more I can build two more carbs.  I had one that was totally messed up and ended up drilling out.

Thanks,
Ken

AACA has Invited CAC To Auburn Nationals

Jim Bollman

The AACA has invited us to be part of their show in Auburn on July 3rd.  Plans are for a large Flea Market (possibly a couple days) and an AACA show on Saturday.  Entrants will have the option of a Crosley style judging or , if they are or become AACA members,  AACA judging.  A good opportunity for those who are traveling and are going to Wauseon early.  Anyone interested or wanting more information can contact CAC President Dave <tmkldwwj@...>.

1950cd 1 piece window regular clips update.

Edited

Hello, I found the size of the clips (7/16) but they would not stay on. I remove the regulator and found this was a used one I purchased years ago and the corrosion on the end made the groove smaller. I removed it, drilled an 1/8 hole it the spot of the groove thru it. Then, I just used a thin washer and a cotter pin instead of the clip. It worked great. I post a few photos of it on my website www.crosleygarage.com so you can see the modification. The Plexiglass has some very light scratches form the dooe glass weather strip from rolling it up and down. I ordered a kit to remove the scratches and put a trearment on to stop that in the future. I only put the windoes up in the summer when I have the air conditioner on. Also, I added a spring inside the door of the righ side of the regulator window guide slot to the bracket at the bottom of the track near the door latch.  You can see the spring in one of the last photos. I covered it in thin foam and than black tape to stop it from rattling and banging around. This "pulls" the widow back to keep the front from droping down due to the bad Crosey 1 piece window design.

I am not picky on its condition as long as it has the dial face with the chrome bezel. Motorola is preferred but the Zenith would be ok.

Thanks to all.

Re: 2021 Membership

Jim Bollman

You should be good if you just joined. Any one that joins after October 1st get the following year plus the last Quarterly for the current year. Duane usually throws a few back issues in to the welcoming package up to the postage limit for the mailing. The Winter 2020 Quarterly is a bit behind but when it comes the mailing label will show your renewal status.
