License plate frame

How do I get a couple of those license plate frames that the virtual car show winners were given? I really like them.

Re: 1951 Super Sport wheel cylinders

1" in front. 3/4" in rear. Look at the fronts. If they ste selfsesling, no need for copper washers. If they are a full open cavity like the originals, you will need washers. The ones I just installed were self sealing. I still had to use the washers on the rear.
Good luck, gabe.

2020 National Meet - Success!

Steve

To Jeff, Dave, Janyne, Jim, and everyone who worked behind the scenes to put this together, CONGRATULATIONS.  Congratulations to all the winners and many thanks to everyone who submitted a picture of their cars.  The competition and quality could not have been better.

I am even more anxious to see everyone in 2021.  My vehicles let me know they miss all their brothers, sisters, and cousins.  Thanks to our officers for putting this together and thank you everyone for sharing.

Illinois Region Meet on Sunday, Sept. 13 - Tentative Approval

Jim Bollman

Midwest Crosley Owners,
The Village of Utica, IL has given us tentative approval to hold our Illinois Region Meet on Sunday, Sept. 13 in Danny Carey Memorial Park.

To get this approval, they requested and I provided information about an approximate number of people and our activities.

So for right now, we are approved to proceed with our meet. I will continue to update as we get closer.

Something new for this year is an option to participate in a Saturday evening cruise to the Oglesby Root Beer Stand. If you plan on traveling and getting a motel room for the night, there is a Days Inn and a Best Western nearby in Oglesby. Jim Welther has spoken with the manager of the root beer stand and he has also given his approval.

If you plan on attending or thinking about it, let me know. I will be putting a newsletter shortly.

I am in a similar situation.  Yes, it is good to have our heads buried under the hood of our Crosleys.  I have recently completed the restoration of my Crofton.  It is now probably in better shape than when it came out of the factory.  As you say, it does keep you grounded.

Just wanted to give a big thank- you To Jim , Jeff  and  Jane  and anyone I missed that was involved in putting on the virtual  national meet, for those of us that have never been able to attend in person it was a very nice option in a crazy year. I entered with no expectations other than showing others the car I restored to honor my father in-law, it came at a time when I had my hands full fighting cancer, had it not been for this project I am not sure where I would have been mentally, It surely helped keep me grounded. Today when I checked the results I was  humbled that I had been chosen as a winner in the CD class.

Thanks

Well,
There's about another 8 hours left of the virtual show. Most of us would have already been well on our way home from the regular show. I sit here on a beautiful Michigan evening relaxing tonight when I would normally still be unpacking from the weeks vacation. So 2020 didn't turn out like we all planned. We didn't travel from all corners of the country to that little fairgrounds in Wauseon, OH for our family reunion. This year our family reunion travelled to us via the web. It's not the same experience we planned on but it sure was fun! Thank you to our CAC board members for putting together the virtual show. Thanks to all of you that made videos to keep it even more interesting. Thanks to all of you that participated in the virtual show. It was great to see all of your cars and displays. Some of which may never make it to the regural show. In the mean time, I hope you all find a few local shows to enjoy safely.
Thanks, Gabe.

Re: Spark Plugs?

Andy Farley

I did some research and decided to put autolite 306 spark plugs in to see if they give me any improvement. The 306 are a little hotter plugs. I gapped them at 28 thousandths instead of 25 because I'm running a 12v system with 65 Chevy coil. I'm pleased to report that there is a very noticeable improvement. Smoother idle and quicker response to the throttle.

LE,
   Thanx for the response.
I checked with the guys at YnZ Parts & they say it's "Cross". So White - Blk Cr. Tr. is a White wire with a black cross tracer.
