I met Sonny Hull, back in 2012, and he raced these Crosley powered boats. Cool guy, sadly, he has passed on. Looks like you have a nice example to work on.

Are these the same ones that have been discussed here before with a consensus that they do not work on our rims?

Dave,

I have 3 ea. 12 x 1 1/4 trim rings that fit a Crosley that I purchased.
They are SS and have a tag on the back that says "Del-Met".
After much searching I found this to be a former heavy truck wheel
cap manufacturer in Tennessee. They no longer had a demand for
12 or 13 inch trim rings so they sold to "Moon Eyes" of Japan.

4 ea. 12" x 1 1/4 rings are available from them for 18,725 Yen including
shipping and handling. About $168 or $42 apiece.

What do you think?

I would love to hear the things he had to say if you ever find those notes.  Seems like an important part of the Crosley story.

I actually did talk to Paul Klotsch back in the late 70s early 80s. I never wrote up the notes I reconstructed afterwards. Wasn't really an interview. I have always planned to write up a story and probably should. I have found and misplaced the notes a couple of times. They are currently in the misplaced mode. As I recall most of my questions were about his time at Crosley.

Has anyone in the club published any stories on Chief Engineer Paul Klotsch?  In a brief review (found at "find a grave.com") it appears he lived a very interesting life (ex. pilot with Richthofen's flying circus in ww1!!!).  It shows he passed in 1991.  I can't believe someone from the club didn't interview him somewhere along the line.

Dont know that anything exists.  There is a 3rd book "Dreams do come True" by Ed Jennings.  It presents a different point if view on the Crosley brothers.
