Re: Crankshaft Identificatiom

Need to have more info as to what other parts you want to use? What block, what crank case, what trans? As you can see the H'lite/B'cat has no provision for a flywheel or pilot bushing for trans, front splines won't accept a Crosley pulley...So short answer is no; long answer is yes with lots of planning and mix/match of parts and some machining..

Re: Crankshaft Identificatiom

so does Bearcat need to be modified to fit a trans?

Re: Crankshaft Identificatiom

The one with the tail is for a bearcat outboard boat engine.  The one on the left is for a car but its a cast crank.  I bet if you have it magna-fluxed it would be cracked.

Hmmm….I would have guessed the opposite.  The numbers on the one on the right sure look cast in instead of forged (or were they cast steel?).

Re: Crofton bug running engine and trans for sale

I assume this has been sold. If so could you contact the buyer to see if they still want it and give them my contact info? If not I might want to make an offer depending on where it is located. I'm in Atlanta. Jim Murphy lftrn97@.... Thank you

I like it, lots of backyard engineering. It would be a big hit at an engine/tractor show or a Crosley gathering.

Old Homemade Crosley SnowMobile

Mike <seller432@...>

Just picked this up today a old homemade crosley snowmobile, guy said he got it from out behind a old barn were it sat maybe 20+ years.  Its crosley drive train and frame right up to the trans mount then it has a angle iron rear frame. Rear diff has sprockets with made chain drive track. Front ski's are old culvert pipe cut and flattened. I had to have it,just because it was neat and sported a crosley drivetrain.  I'm going to try and fix it up for a toy around the yard.

Looks like was dropped to $600. It’s not for the faint of heart but I think would be worth saving.
