Re: 1948 CC gauges

Mike,  Typically the speedometer and guage cluster are restorable. They are well protected under the dash and also have a heavy duty housing. The faces and the bezels are paintable. I have restored my own, however it is a very pains taking job. If Service Motors will work on the set you have, it is worth whatever they charge.

Re: Winter CROSLEY Quarterly

Mike, welcome to the world of Crosley ! The best way to start getting the Crosley quarterly, is to become a member of the club. You will find a membership form on our club website. You are always welcome to ask any questions you may have and either myself or someone who knows the answer will certainly respond. As far as getting a copy of the winter quarterly, I will leave that up to Fred Syrdal, the club editor.

Seems like a WHOLE lot of effort but silver solder would be my first attempt in keeping with cheap metal repair.

Last call for anything for the club magazine.  The Quarterly goes to print next week so this is the last weekend for anything, ads, articles, regional stuff, etc.  It should be in everyone's mailbox before Chrismas, usually about Dec 15th.

Service Motors had some restored ones at the Nationals and indicated they were rebuilding them.

Hood Badge Repair

wpaxt@...

Anybody ever tried to repair a broken hood badge?  I know you can buy aftermarket replacements but I think it would be cool to fashion a DIY repair.

The badges generally break off like mine, right at where the loop that holds the jewel meets the badge itself:

My buddy suggesting fabricating top loop piece and tack welding it to the badge.  I was thinking of epoxy and using a jewelry blank.  Any ideas?

Re: FS: Hot Shot - IL - $2800

That's the one that I looked at back in Sept and ran away from it. The body is full of mud and rust and been butchered up bad. All you are getting is a frame and some pieces. Under the sheet metal under the crappy doors is rotted out rust. The doors are sheet metal screwed to the outside of the body. If this did sell for $700, that is about what it is worth.

I am looking for air cleaner or what i could use as a more modern air cleaner and looking for front leaf springs Any ideas would be helpful

That was the one listed a couple weeks ago for $1,200 from a different seller. I think it sold for $700

Jonathan,  So very sorry for the loss of your granfather. I will be sure to mention his name at the national meet, memorial picnic. This will be the third year for this event where we remember the club members that have passed on.
