Re: farm o road

The regular FOR rear drum and dual wheel drum are the same. Is your drum missing, cracked, ? If the hub is cracked, a common problem when they are installed incorrectly, it can be fixed if you can't find a drum. Since that drum only fits the FOR they are hard to find.

Re: starter

Jim Bollman

I was just filing old messages and realized no one answered your question. Did you solve your starter problem? The small starter, if in good shape, should turn the engine fine. I would suggest replacing the starter rather than adopting a big starter, especially if it is a racer, why add a couple of pounds of unneeded weight. I would bet one of our vendors would have a good used starter you could buy. Dave Edwards Crosley has a lot of used parts and would be a good place to start. http://crosleyautoclub.com/PartsSuppliers.html

I do have one of those adapters somewhere, not sure were. Not really interested in getting rid of it but a machinist could make one pretty easy. If you still want to go that way, I will try and find it to get some good photos and measurements.

Ken,  I was communicating with a fellow back in June that has a boat load of parts that his dad left him. One of the parts was a nose and fenders. His name is Roy and his cell# is 509-869-1093. I had passed his info on to Service Motors as he had a lot of parts. I do not know what happened after that. Roy is out west, he may be a couple hours behind time. Good luck, hope you can get the nose piece you need.

I have changed the Topic of this thread so it reflects the discussion, since it was added on to the Crosley of the Month Thread.

As far as Hubcap Mike's products, they were talked about a few years ago. Unless he has added new versions they were to deep a trim ring for the stock Crosley wheel, they stuck out from the wheel.

Here is a pointer to the old thread

Chrome Trim Rings Availability

Dennis Terdy

Edited

Recently I attended an excellent West Coast Crosley Club meet in Pacific Grove, CA. I found 2 Crosleys decked out with small 1.25" X 12" chrome trim rings. I followed up with the owners but the product, European I believe, was manufactured on a limited basis and is no longer available. Does anyone have information about: 1. Small trim rings like these or 2. Crome rings and source that work on Crosley 12" rims. Thank you.

I love these vintage pictures. That’s a sharp little prewar, and what I suspect is a Ford AA wrecker.

Thanks, Jim!

Auction: 1951 Super Sports - East KS - Nov 4th

Was forwarded this info that Jay Neeley sent Our President Dave.

It's (51 SS) selling at auction. Very unlikely to bring much in this part of the country. Check out  www.buntinauctionservice.com/Neely/ for more details. I personally had the car running about 10 years ago will need fuel system attention (of course) but it is a solid little car and ran very smoothly. You can call me if you have any questions about the Crosley. 406-560-7371
Jay Neeley

Auction is outside Chanute, KS which on the map looks like Eastern Kansas. Here is a direct link to the auction bill and car picture.
