Archive Website for the Chicago Stereo Camera Club #archives

KenK

Here is a link to the new website I created for the Chicago Stereo Camera Club Archives

My intent was to keep it fairly simple, focus on the content and have it be easily expandable.
It is also designed to work on desktop and mobile devices.
This is definitely a work in progress.

I expect much more to be added.  This is just the beginning.

I hope everyone enjoys a safe, healthy and Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi Ken,

I don’t know Matt Bergstrom but two of the other independent artists listed at the bottom of the website (see below) have presented their shows at NSA conventions.

Christopher Schneberger - Chicago photographer Schneberger's mysterious tales of the supernatural

The Man With F.E.E.E.T. - An action-packed 3D adventure by Eric Drysdale

Subject: [Chicago3d] Chicago Hot Dog Stands View-Master Reel

Scrolling through a recent auction listing from the Netherlands (from sell-3d), I was surprised to see a listing for a Chicago Hot Dog Stands View-Master reel among the many, many 3d related items. While I don't think there is any Netherlands connection, I was curious.

After a little searching, I found this website for Wurlington Press
https://wurlington-bros.com/VM/index.html
This View-Master reel and other Chicago related reels are listed.

Does anyone know Matt Bergstrom or any related background?

Here is the original posting for the auction on sell-3d

David Starkman & his 1950's CSCC Tie Pin

KenK

During one of the 3D-Con happy hours in Gather.town, David Starkman went and got his Chicago Stereo Camera Club tie pin to show to me.

t has the CSCC logo still in use today as seen on the CSCC website. http://www.chicagostereocameraclub.org/
I took a couple of screenshots as he showed it to his webcam...

Does anyone else in the club have these?

Curtis Show at NSA 3D Con Stereo Theater

Bob Curtis

Hi fellow 3Drs,

I’ve blind carboned most of the recipients to keep your emails private.

I’m excited and humbled to advise my stereo show titled “A Tribute to Ed Lower” has been selected to show at the NSA virtual conference this week.

It is tentatively scheduled to be shown at 2:00 PM Pacific time (4:00 CT, 5:00 ET) on Friday, 8/13/21.

The 3-D Theater presentations will be streamed on Youtube in both side-by-side for 3DTVs and red/cyan anaglyph for phones, tablets, and computers.

It’s my understanding the show will be available on YouTube after the conference too if that time is not convenient for you.

Regards,

Bob Curtis

3D Video Editing Software discussion at upcoming 3d-con

Dave Comeau wrote on the NSA Facebook page:
All this said, I believe Magix Movie Edit Pro is a decent viable alternative. It handles stereo adjustment and is good for those on a budget. We'll be running a workshop at 3D-Con on Saturday 8/14 at 12:30pm ET with Greg Perez. Perhaps there can be a discussion afterwards in the gather.town speakers lounge about other software Pluses and Minuses. And/or maybe someone might want to put together a Google Doc of current movie editing programs that support Stereo? And the doc would be open for people to update it, add their experiences, diff software etc. I'd love to do it but am swamped with all other preparation for 3D-Con. (And if you haven't registered, do it now! https://www.3d-con.com/registration.php )

Made this if anyone interested.

Three Ways to use the Internet Archive to save websites

Edited

1. Use the simple "Save Page Now" to submit a website for archiving.

2. Become a member of archive.org (it's free) and get a lot more options in saving a website

3. Join an organization (like Chicago3d) and use Archive-It to use advanced archiving tools

How is Archive-It different from the Wayback Machine?

Jim McManus' NASA-Space Shuttle Era Presentation

Edited

Jim McManus had a very interesting NASA-Space Shuttle Era presentation on the NYSA 5/1/21 Zoom call. Here are the stereo photos.

Included were some stereo photos of the GigaPxl Camera (not stereo but an amazing camera)

The original GigaPxl website no longer works. However the internet archive has some content from the defunct GigaPxl website.
Here are a couple of links

Part 2 of his presentation, NASA post-Space Shuttle is scheduled for the NYSA 5/15/21 Zoom Call.
Here is a link to the NYSA 5/1/21 Zoom call video if you want to check out Part 1 of Jim's presentation.
