Looking for an ICOM IC-705 for Bluetooth tests

Edited

Sorry but for now my CT17B-6BT does not have an audio codec. :(

you could try to use a CSR type USB Bluetooth adapter, most of these (be careful... most!), support when used in Windows10 both data and audio links via Bluetooth.

thus you should be able to link your 705 to a Windows10 in both data (CI-V) and audio, but... sorry there is a but, the data speed will not be as high as usb, some application with panadapters like Win4Icom need high speed CI-V limks foe functions like these...

I hope this helps

I know how to setup the IC-705 for WSJT-X
with a USB Cable between the IC-705 and a PC
and have done that before many times !

What I want to do is NOT use a USB cable and do it
with Bluetooth ( No USB Cable ) BT for both Audio and Data

Tried via the WLAN Server and no luck, apparently
the RS-BA1v2 Utility when connected to the PC
only allows one to use the Icom RS-BA1 software
and Virtual Port fine but if you try to use the Icom
Virtual Port it does not want to share it for WSJT-X
on a Windows 10 PC, even Com0Com will not
share a Pair with the Icom Virtual Com Port

So the only other method is via Bluetooth to
link CI-V and Audio Incoming and Outgoing
to WSJT-X from the IC-705 Bluetooth BT

That why I thought you might know about how to connect Bluetooth BT from a ICOM IC-705 to WSJT-X without
using The typical USB cable approach which seems to
generate RFI in the HF Bands

OH! MAN! Dan! you're killing me! (Don't tell my XYL Guys!)

Like I responded to Mike below, this works fine in Windows, now I really don't know anything about the Pi Server you guys are using (Sry!) but, just like in windows you SHOULD (????) be able to access both the audio Codec and CI-V Data port...

Maybe there are users of that PI Server in the group (PLEASE! Jump in!!!)

send me reference data or links to that server I will be happy to into it (no promises!) at least this way the wife wont know about me not pushing sales more :P

Warning Sales Pitch coming: guys drop by WWW.VE2DX.COM for more info on my stuff and also drop into the used and book section! See Moose (canadian version for DEER! Get it DEER... Moose!!!) I tried!

Dont have to be crazy to be a canuc but it helps!

Micheal The CT17B-6BT Bluetooth device will let you connect the 705 to a CI-V device by creating a Bluetooth CI-V link between the 705 and any external cabled CI-V device, in regards to what you are trying to do, you can easily do this via the 705 USB port, that supports both the DATA (CI-V) and Audio codec simultaneously that you need to do this...

I have done this many times using either 7300 and 9700, and the 705 works the same way.

I would LOVE to sell you my CT17B-6BT, but in this case, you really don't need it :(

If you need further help let us know or contact me via email I will be happy to help.

(Here Goes that sale :( the XYL will kill me!) :P

Hello Gang, I am looking for an owner of an ICOM IC-705 for tests with my Bluetooth CI-17B-6BT

I think we may be able to use the CT-17B-6BT Bluetooth with the ICOM IC-705 to extend the CI-V network, as you may be aware the IC-705 does not have a Remote 1/8 port (CI-V port) instead it expects the user to link the CI-V via the USB port, this brings up the issues with not being able to control othe ICOM or NON-ICOM (like the Steppir for example) with the CI-V port.  If I am correct I am hoping to be able to link the existing CI-V internal Bus of the IC-705 to the CT-17B-6BT via bluetooth data link and then control external devices via the CT-17B-6BT.

I am affraid that since www.ve2dx.com is our only source of revenue because of Covid I can not afford to purchase the IC-705 radio at this time, thus if you have a IC-705 please let me know so that we can make arrangments.  Being in the Quebec or Ontario are would be a plus, but I am willing to do this anywhere in the world!
