I fully agree, Dave!

The CI-V protocol is defined to support interactions among multiple nodes. With more than two nodes communicating, there will likely be collisions. The protocol defines how collisions should be

Can I operate two radios over CI-V an same CI-V HUB.
Well, the answer is; yes and no! It depends...
One a unique hub like CT-17 or the VE2DX CT17B series, you CAN run more than one radio linked to the same computer...
But...
Yes, there is a BUT...

Re: IC-705 antenna switch from band data
As a follow-up to my previous note, since I missed that you wanted separate HF, VHF, and UHF antennas, you would need a single triplexer, like this:

I think that, for vhf and uhf is better to use duplexers than relay based switch's and for this reason I will use duplexer for this solution.
And it is an passive device and this means lees problems

ok well yes the CT17B-6BT will help you by creating CI-V ports for connecting external CI-V devices to your 705.

How can I hook up my 705 to a CI-V device?
The IC705 does not come with a CI-V port, thus many hams are stuck without any possibilities to control other radios or devices via CI-V.
