Dear Boston Wednesday Night Israeli Dance community,
We are thrilled to be returning to dancing THIS WEDNESDAY, July 7th at
the Stephan F Rutledge VFW, 386 Washington Street in Brookline. We
hope to see you tomorrow to dance together as a community and
celebrate the continuation of the session post-COVID. General
Admission is $5, Students are $3.
We have some exciting updates:
1. Name: We officially have a new name - Rikud Revi'i (Wednesday Dance
- with fun alliteration in Hebrew!), a continuation of the decades of
Wednesday dancing in Boston!
2. Session Format: We are going to be trying out a new format for the
session to honor the different interests and needs of community
members. As always, we'd love your feedback!
From 7:30 - 8:15pm, we will be having Way Back Wednesdays, a tribute
to our days at MIT through playing classics from the session and
reteaching dances that were popular during the last several decades of
dancing. This could include debkas, horas, yemenites, nostalgia
(oldies), emtza haderech, and more! Thank you in advance to Larry
Denenberg for starting us off this week with YOUR (thanks to everyone
who voted!) choice and a Boston classic - Bosmat!
From 8:15 -10:15pm will be our regular session of circles, lines, and
partners. Each week we will be featuring a short specialty set from a
guest programmer from the community - thank you in advance to Alexis
Maharam for stepping up to the plate as our community programmer this
week!
Finally, from 10:15 -11:00pm will be late partners.
3. COVID-19 Protocols: In order to keep the community safe during this
time, we are going to be requiring proof of vaccination against
COVID-19. This means having been fully vaccinated (receiving a second
dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or first dose of the J & J
vaccine two weeks prior to dancing). You can either bring your
vaccination card or a picture of your card to dancing - we will not
record any information from the card, just note that you have received
the vaccination. Additionally, we will not be requiring dancers to
wear masks, though we certainly respect the comfort of those who
choose to. Finally, we're attaching a waiver here that you can sign
either prior to the session or we'll have printed copies to sign in
person on Wednesday as well.
If you have any questions, please contact the Rikud Revi'i team at
info@.... We couldn't be more excited to be
returning to dancing in person and can't wait to see you on the dance
floor! See you TOMORROW!
