Comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF) & C/2020 V2 (ZTF)
Those of you who know me, I'm not one to get up at the crack of dawn to look at a dim comet. Well, I've done it twice. I saw it last Wednesday in a 5" refractor and this morning at 3:00 am in the 25".

My intention of setting of the 25" in my light-polluted sky early in the early evening was to get up later to view Comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF). I spent some time observing some obvious deep sky objects. It

There is a nice selection of features on the sun today in white light. I was observing with my Herschel Wedge and things look good despite the high clouds. Lots of pores, several spots and one very go

Confirmed sighting of a small C class flare this morning while watching the sun
2 messages
Confirmed a small C class flare took place when I saw it. It is calming down now. One sunspot is so large it is an easy naked eye sunspot using a #14 welder's glass.

Comet observing from Monday Morning
7 messages
Was up at 0300 to look at the comet now close to Bootes. It was quite cold but very clear at 26 degrees. The 4 inch scope had been left out all evening from an earlier observing session Sunday night.

Can You Find The Fox
4 messages
Nice night last night albeit a bit chilly. I got some time on NGC2264 sometimes called the Fox Fur Nebula. This is a really interesting area in Monoceros. Taken in Halpha. Can you see the fox? Cheers

One of the fun clusters in a small scope. It is dominated by the central red star which hides most of the cluster. When you get there you think "where is the cluster"? You need to find the right power
