Here's my take of Sh2-308 aka Dolphin's Head nebula. A difficult object because of it's location in the sky at this time of year. It's done in HaOIIIOIII at the Staunton River star party

Wonderbar!

Really nice shot, Stu.  I’ve chased this ghost visually for years, but it has always been too low, down in the trees or deep in the muck, and not around long enough to get many chances at it.  Never have gotten a good view.  But it’s been the APOD several times, making it look easy.  It’s not.

Very nice, did you shoot it Monday night?

Thanks guys. From home I can't get but about an hour on it and it's too dim to be usable from light polluted skies.

Yes Robert...shot it Monday night. I shot it again on Thursday night but the sky wasn't near as good and when I tried to combine the 2 nights, it pulled the results down until it wasn't near as good. I could really use about 8 good hours on it.

Stu, it's so good to hear from you again. the picture is typical of your work, i.e., superb. I've never seen it visually, and without a dark sky available, doubt I ever will.

Thanks Kent, appreciate it!
