I think I am going comet hunting Monday Morning

Sunday night and Monday morning are the only openings this week so here we go! Coffee anyone??

I saw it a month ago so it will be interesting to see how it looks now. 26 degrees predicted. EmojiEmojiEmojiEmoji

Too late for me, but if you (or anyone in the group) would like to meet in the evening for observing, I am in. I have a new scope that I really want to try out.

We can do that if the weather ever gives us a break. I'll keep an eye open for a chance. This is typical winter. At least there are no bugs.

Sounds good

Did you end up getting the 8" dob with the starsense?

Shawn Loescher

Where are you looking at setting up at?

Sandy

Yes!  Haven’t had the opportunity to spend much time with it. Excited to learn more of its capabilities. I don’t know where we can meet?  Mark, did you have a place in mind?

I will be dreaming of comets stretched across the sky while wrapped in several blankets in my warm bed.

Shawn Loescher

Haha. You're not fooling me Kent. I know you already got up early to look at this comet at least once.

I think the best viewing will be at the ocean. I'm not sure of any good spots over there.

I am heading out to either the baseball field behind FC High School (looking east away from the lights) or to First Landing Park on the Bay side (I have a pass).
Going out around 3:30 am……..

Depends on timing and weather. This week looks tough. We shall see what comes up.

I understand if it is too cold, but if anyone is interested in observing this evening for an hour or so I am still game. Just let me know.

Sounds fun Sandy but I think I'm going to get up early instead to try and find the comet again. If anyone is interested in meeting up let me know if you have a location in mind. Looking at Google maps it looks like the Back Bay Landing Boat Ramp would be a good spot. Has anyone been there before.

Sandy

No problem. Good luck!
