The weather gods had the final say last night at the planetarium. What started out as clear skies deteriorated quickly to almost nothing but the moon last night. A lucky few got to see an approaching lunar/stellar occultation but those are almost impossible to share. It was nice it was a wide double star but the view was hampered by clouds obscuring the stars close to the limb. The star was 77 Pisces, Struve 90, a bright 6th magnitude star 38 arc seconds apart. It would have salvaged the evening but trees and clouds ruled the night. Kent did take a very nice picture of me while observing. |

Nice effort at public service, Mark, even though thwarted by those pesky clouds. At least you tried and got a neat photo out of it as proof of participation. Better luck next week.
